ConwayCatch-Up May 2

Hi Conway #OneFamily!

Welcome back to another Monday in Cougarland! That was a fast weekend! Eid Mubarak to our Muslim families today and this week as you celebrate the end of Ramadan.

To all of our entire Conway Staff, HAPPY TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK! At Conway, we celebrate every single person this week....custodians, cafeteria employees, teachers, paraprofessionals, front office staff....everyone teaches children here. Please take a moment to send a thank you note or email to as many of these people as you can to say thanks for making Conway such a great place to be. People are what makes the magic happen in a school. Our people are truly the best I have ever worked with! Please encourage your kiddos to take time this week to say thanks :)

Information for the week:

  • Parent Feedback: Your input about how you feel this year went is really important to us! We want to continue to get better and after these two crazy years, we know we have to refocus on some areas already. But, we would love your feedback about how we did and what you would like to see with your school in the future. Please take 5 minutes to let us know your thoughts by doing this quick Google Form. Click HERE for the form. Thank you so very much in advance for helping us!
  • CougarPalooza: This is our HUGE carnival event that we are going to bring back to Conway in just a few weeks. To pull this off, we need some MAJOR help.

It is scheduled for Saturday May 14th. This is an amazing fundraiser for our school and would not be possible, without your help.

This year, each Classroom has been assigned a Game/Station. Please consider helping out your kiddos class by volunteering to help man their station. We would like for you to sign up by grade and please NOTE your child's teacher in the comment section.

Thanks so much for your support!"

  • May 5 - Math SOL Assessment for 3rd - 5th Graders.
  • Positions Next Year: We are almost hired and ready to go for next year, which is incredible! We are always on the hunt to find the best of the best people for our school. Right now, we are on the hunt for great people to work with our kiddos during lunch. If you would like to work at Conway to support children during lunch as a lunch hostess, please email or call me so we can talk about plans for next year.
  • Eid Celebration: We would like to invite all of our families that celebrate Eid to a little gathering here for some treats at 5:00 - 6:00 PM this Thursday. Please click here to RSVP.

Here are some topics that we shared at Family University (we will have a new one each week)

Zones of Regulation: Every week, I am going to share a different session from our Family University for those who could not attend. This week, we have information on the email I sent this on about the Zones of Regulation. The zones help kiddos identify their emotions at that moment and then help them learn ways to help them through big emotions.

Helping kiddos with technology - Great resources for parents on how to navigate this new world of phones, Youtube, and Tik Tok.
