A2 Virtual+ April Update
April 2nd, 2025
Principal Message
Good Afternoon,
Welcome to our new families joining us for Trimester 3! We are honored that you have chosen A2 Virtual+ as part of your student's educational journey. Our team is dedicated to providing your student a personalized, flexible, and student-centered online learning experience. With over 1,300 students enrolled in at least one online course, we appreciate your patience and partnership as we support each learner.
April is the perfect time for students to revisit their orientation materials to ensure they are on track for a strong finish. Encourage your student to:
✔ Review their progress using the pacing resources in their class.
✔ Confirm which assessments require proctoring.
✔ Stick to a schedule that fits their needs while ensuring mastery of course material.
As the weather warms up and schedules shift, regular progress checks can help determine if adjustments are needed. Staying on track now will set students up for success as we approach the end of the school year.
Thank you for your continued support—we’re here to help every step of the way!
Warm Regards,
Principal Lauer

State Mandated Assessments
April is the month that students complete most of the state-mandated standardized assessments. These assessments are only available in person and are administered through your student’s assigned school. You or your students should receive information about when testing will occur from a building representative. Please note that A2 Virtual+ does not administer these assessments; all state mandated testing must be completed at the student’s designated school
Here is a summary of the state-mandated tests by grade:
Grades 3-7: M-Step
Grades 8 -10: PSAT
Grade 11: MME (completion of the MME test is a graduation requirement)
WIDA: Required for English Language Learners in Grades K-12
Information about the assessments can be found on the state website: https://www.michigan.gov/mde/services/student-assessment
If you have any questions about completing the state-mandated testing for your student, please contact your student's building counselor.
