Mrs. Emily Voucas - Staff Member Highlight of the Week

What is your role at Kings Road School?

I am a fourth grade teacher.

What are your qualifications to serve in your role?

This is my fifth year at KRS. I attended Rutgers University and received my masters in special and general education.

What do you like about Kings Road School?

Kings Road is a special place! The teachers are always willing to help each other and collaborate, which creates a strong sense of community. There's a real focus on teamwork and growth, and it’s motivating to be a part of that. The students are also a huge reason why I enjoy my job. Their curiosity and eagerness to learn is inspiring. KRS is a place where both educators and students thrive together.

What is your favorite book?

My favorite book is Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. It is a historical fiction novel that helps our class engage in deep discussions. It challenges us to think critically and it sparks thoughtful conversations.

What do you like to do when you are not at Kings Road School?

When I am not at Kings Road School I really enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I love playing with my nieces and nephews- their energy and joy is contagious and it is so much fun to watch them grow and learn new things. My husband and I also enjoy watching different TV series and trying new restaurants.
