Flexible Instruction Day (FID)

A Flexible Instruction Day (FID) is an asynchronous/virtual day where students complete their school assignments from home when school is closed for emergency purposes, such as an Inclement Weather Day. The FID day is from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

If devices are not provided, students will work from their FID folders that are updated regularly from the start of school. Work must be submitted upon their return for attendance and grading purposes.

If Devices are Provided, Students must sign into Clever for Attendance.

• To be counted as present, students must sign into Clever at 9:00 am.
• Go to your Teacher's Page on Clever.
• Teacher instructions will be found there and/or via Dojo for parent support.
  
  

Internet Issues:

If your child is unable to access their device, the Emergency FID folder work must be submitted upon your child's return to school to account for attendance.

You will need to connect your child's school device to your home wi-fi.

On a Chromebook:

• Click on the Quick Settings Panel at the bottom right of your screen.
• Click on “no-network.”
• Select your Wifi Network.
• Enter the password.

On an iPad:

• Click on the setting icon on the home screen
• Click on Wi-Fi.
  
• Select your Wifi Network.
• Enter your password.

Students access all of their apps through Clever, our Single Sign-On Dashboard. When students open their computer, they are prompted to sign into Clever using their Clever badge. You will need to sign students onto your home wi-fi to connect them to the Internet.

Log in Using Your Child’s Clever Badge

Your child’s teacher can send you their badge through Email or Dojo if they do not have it.

Click on the QR Code "Clever Badge Login"

You may need to click "Allow" for your device’s camera. Hold the student's badge up to the screen. It will show a green check and sound a chime indicating they are logging in. Email office@artsacademyecs.org if you need another copy of your child's Clever badge. You can hold up an image of the badge from your ohone to the device's camra.

Log in Using Email

If you re not able to sign on with a Clever badge, choose Sign in with Google, and enter the student's e-mail and password. Parents can sign into Jupiter, choose their child and go to Settings to view their e-mail address and password.

Student assignments may be in the form of worksheets sent home prior to an FID day, or assignments sent by the teacher to be completed on the students' i-Pad or Chromebook. Most student application programs can be accessed on the Clever Dashboard.

Teachers will be available as needed for questions regarding assignments via email, Jupiter or Dojo messaging.

Your child's teacher is the first point of contact for questions regarding virtual assignments.

If your child's teacher cannot help you, please e-mail office@artsacademyecs.org. This is a group email, so you will receive a faster response than emailing any one person individually. Please note, we cannot access our phone lines when we are not in the building, so email is the only way to reach us!
