Dear Parker Elementary School Families,

It is hard to believe how quickly this school year has flown by! As I reflect on my first year at Parker, I am incredibly grateful to everyone who made it so memorable.

First and foremost, thank you to our students for reminding me each day exactly why we choose to work in education. To our families, thank you for your warm welcomes and your incredible outpouring of support at all of our school events. I also want to recognize the amazing Parker staff—this building is full of deeply caring and knowledgeable individuals who truly put our kids first, and I thank them for their unwavering support. A special shout-out goes to our Parker PTO, your monthly morale boosters for the staff, your dedicated fundraising, and the immense effort you pour into every single event are appreciated by students, staff, and families, thank you!

As we head into the vacation, I hope everyone has a restful and relaxing summer break. For our 4th-graders who are off to middle school, remember that your Parker Family is always rooting you on and here to support you. For the rest of our returning students, you have worked so hard this year, so please use the next few months to relax, have fun, and make wonderful memories to share with your new friends and teachers in the Fall.

Our recent Best Buddies Kick-Off Event at the Parker School was a wonderful success! Students gathered in Ms. Graff's room to create "Kindness Rocks," which they have scattered around our school grounds to spread positivity.

What a wonderful ceremony we had on Tuesday for our fourth graders as they prepare to move on to middle school this fall!

I want to extend a special thank you to Ms. Robyn Nasrah for her dedication to our 4th-grade chorus, which put on a fantastic performance for their families. I would also like to thank the wonderful Ms. Judy Butler, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure everything ran flawlessly.

SUN Bucks, the federal food benefit program once known as Summer EBT, is returning for summer 2026. SUN Bucks provides a $120 lump-sum summer benefit per school-aged child for income-eligible families. The program is administered by the state Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) in partnership with DESE and with assistance from schools.

SUN Bucks income eligibility standards are the same as those for the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). As such, all enrolled students identified as meeting the income eligibility standards for free or reduced-price lunch during school year 2025-26, either through an NSLP household paper application or direct certification, are automatically eligible for SUN Bucks. Students identified as homeless, migrant, runaway or participating in Head Start are also automatically eligible. Students who do not meet the aforementioned criteria can apply for SUN Bucks benefits through DTA by visiting www.DTAConnect.com.
