A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL DR. GONZALEZ A SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL DR. GONZALEZ

Dear Mount Whitney Families and Community,

Happy November! As we settle into the middle of the fall semester, I want to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for the energy, participation, and school spirit that make Mount Whitney such a special place to be. It has been an exciting start to the school year, and so much of that momentum comes from seeing our students learn, lead, and grow across all of our campus programs.

Our Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) students have already delivered some incredible performances this season. The choir put on a fantastic showcase at the El Diamante Theater, while our band represented us proudly in Bakersfield before taking the field at the Fresno State football stadium. Our orchestra hosted a wonderful evening of music at the Divisadero Multipurpose Coliseum, and our drama department staged a terrific production at the Rotary Theater. Meanwhile, our Elevate Dance Team, dance program, and cheer squad have brought non-stop energy to our campus rallies and athletic games. Best of all, this is just the beginning, as our arts programs prepare for several upcoming performances in the months ahead.

That excitement carries right over into athletics, where our fall sports teams are wrapping up strong regular seasons and heading into playoffs. A big congratulations to our undefeated Boys Water Polo team for bringing home the League Championship title!

While we love celebrating these accomplishments in VAPA and athletics, our main priority will always be delivering a solid, engaging academic experience every single day. Our teachers work hard to keep students challenged while giving them the personal support they need to succeed. To help every Pioneer stay on track, we offer free after-school tutoring where students can get direct help with coursework, projects, and test prep from our staff. We also host Saturday School sessions to give students dedicated study space, extra help, and opportunities to make up work or boost their grades.

We encourage all of our families to partner with us by keeping an eye on progress reports, encouraging consistent study routines at home, and taking full advantage of these academic support programs.

Thank you for your continued partnership and for everything you do to support our Mount Whitney school community.
