Bell to Bell No Cell
2026-2027
Bell to Bell no Cell
Prairie Lane will continue the district's "Bell to Bell No Cell" initiative during the 2026–2027 school year. This means that when students arrive at school, they will place their cell phones, smartwatches, and other personal electronic devices in a designated, secure location and will receive them back at the end of the school day during dismissal procedures.
The goal of this initiative is simple: to maximize instructional time, reduce distractions, and help students stay focused on learning, building relationships, and engaging in the school day.
Important Reminders:
- During school hours (from arrival until the final dismissal bell), student use of cell phones, smartwatches, and other personal electronic devices is not permitted unless specifically authorized by a staff member or outlined in a student's IEP or Section 504 Plan.
- Devices should be turned off and stored away upon arrival at school.
- Recording, photographing, or videotaping others without permission is strictly prohibited.
- This expectation applies during the school day, including off-campus school-sponsored activities such as field trips.
If you need to communicate with your child during the school day, please contact the Prairie Lane office, and we will be happy to relay messages. Likewise, students will continue to have access to school phones for illness, emergencies, transportation changes, or other important needs.
Devices used in violation of these expectations may be confiscated and returned to the student or parent/guardian after school hours. Additional consequences may be assigned in accordance with the Student-Parent Handbook.
