Mission View and Lincoln Teachers Team up on Math
Teachers from Mission View and Lincoln Elementary Schools spent Wednesday afternoon working through math together.
The two staffs met during the district's half-day release for teacher professional development. They looked closely at their math units, compared how lessons are going in their classrooms, and planned upcoming instruction side by side.
Teachers who usually plan within their own building got to hear from colleagues in another building. They traded strategies that are working, talked through the concepts students tend to struggle with, and reflected on how they teach them.
That's the purpose behind the district's half days. The early release gives teachers protected time to collaborate, and what they build together goes straight back into their classrooms. When teachers sharpen how they teach a tough math concept, students are the ones who benefit.

What the bond includes
If voters approve the $275 million measure on Nov. 3, the rebuilt Wenatchee High School is expected to open in fall 2030. The bond would also replace heating and cooling systems at Lewis & Clark, John Newbery, Mission View and Sunnyslope elementary schools and at Foothills, Orchard and Pioneer middle schools. The new systems would filter air during wildfire smoke and keep classrooms at steady temperatures during heat waves.
