The program runs through October 28th!

This week we welcomed the American Heart Association to campus to teach us about how to keep our hearts healthy. Mint Valley is joining other schools in the district for the AHA “Kids Heart Challenge.”

For the next few weeks, kids will be participating in heart-healthy activities in Mr. B’s PE classes. Students have an opportunity to gain prizes if they would like to set up an account with the AHA.

Participation in the fundraising program is optional.

An informational flyer was sent home this week with students.

Last year we also participated in the Kids Heart Challenge and today the kids who completed the "Finn's Challenge" had the opportunity to spray principal, Mr. Mitchell and P.E. teacher, Mr. "B" with silly string! They came PREPARED for this!

It was a very fun assembly and we are excited to start using our HEARTS!

WHAT'S IN THE BACKPACK....OR EMAIL?

Just a reminder to families to PLEASE check your child's backpack each day! Timely homework assignments, flyers and other information often comes home in backpacks. Don't be caught by surprise by checking that backpack!

Also, if you have an email on file with the school, PLEASE check your email daily for any notices that may come from the district, school or teacher. Electronic mail is a safe and reliable means of communication from the schools to families. If you don't have an email on file, please add one to your child's Skyward account by calling the school secretaries at (360) 575-7581.

Just a reminder that students should not be bringing any toys, squishes, Legos, Pokemon cards, stuffies, etc. from home unless it's a day where they bring a stuffed animal or something where they pay Milo Bucks towards that opportunity. Let's keep special toys at home, please!

LOST AND FOUND WILL BE DONATED THE LAST DAY OF EACH MONTH! LOST AND FOUND WILL BE DONATED THE LAST DAY OF EACH MONTH!

Please, please PLEASE mark your child's name on their belongings! We keep lost and found in the office for a month waiting for their owner to return to them, but without a name on items, they eventually will be donated.

AFTERNOON OFFICE PICKUP AFTERNOON OFFICE PICKUP

🕜 Please note that during the last 15 minutes of the school day, we kindly ask that parents refrain from picking up students from the front office or calling in changes to a student's transportation. This period of the day tends to be very busy for the secretaries, teachers and specialists with dismissal procedures, and limiting pickups and changes at this time helps ensure the safety and smooth operation of our dismissal process. Thank you for your understanding.

PETS ON CAMPUS PETS ON CAMPUS

🐶 Just a reminder that NO PETS are allowed on school grounds except for service animals. This includes pickup at the front gate and those animals on leashes or carried. For the safety of all, please leave pets at home or in your car during pick up and drop off.

We email approved volunteers when we have a need for help and each person decides whether or not it will work for them and their schedule. No pressure or commitment! To comply with the district and state, there are a few requirements to complete. You can find the CHAMPS application at the link below. The entire application is all ONLINE. Once complete, you will be notified directly by the school district of your approval, a badge will be sent to the school and your email will be shared for volunteer opportunities.
