PRINCIPAL'S POST WITH DR. WRIGHT
🎬 NHE Families!
What an exciting start to the school year at Nottingham! We have officially completed our first full week of school, and our Knights are already engaged in meaningful learning, building strong classroom routines, reconnecting with friends, and settling into the year beautifully. The energy throughout our campus has been outstanding, and we are excited about the learning, growth, and success already taking place!
As we continue building on this strong start, we encourage all of our Knights to demonstrate our 3 R’s each and every day:
⭐ Be Respectful
⭐ Be Responsible
⭐ Be Ready
These expectations are at the heart of who we are at Nottingham and help create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment for everyone. We appreciate our families reinforcing the 3 R’s at home as we continue building a strong culture of learning, leadership, and Knight Pride!

🚗 Arrival, Dismissal & Safety
Thank you, families, for your continued partnership in helping our arrival and dismissal procedures run smoothly. Your patience, cooperation, and attention to our procedures have made a tremendous difference.
As always, student safety remains at the forefront of everything we do. Please help us by keeping the following reminders in mind:
🚗 Please pull forward as far as possible in the car line to help us safely and efficiently unload students.
👧 Students should enter and exit vehicles from the passenger side whenever possible.
🚶 For the safety of all students, we kindly ask that students not walk through the parking lot unattended during morning arrival. If using the parking lot, please accompany your child and use the designated crosswalks.
↔️ Please remember that the middle lane entering the parking lot is not a turning lane. Following the designated traffic pattern helps us maintain a safe and orderly flow of vehicles.
🚲 Please remain alert and watch carefully for student walkers and bicyclists during both arrival and dismissal.
⏰ Students should arrive on time and be ready to begin learning at 7:55 a.m.
❤️ Please continue demonstrating patience, courtesy, and attentiveness as we work together to keep every Knight safe.
Thank you again for a fantastic first full week of school and for entrusting us with your children each day. We have set a strong foundation, and I am confident that an exceptional year of learning, growth, and achievement is ahead for Nottingham!
Knights, Camera... Action! 🎬
With Knight Pride,
Dr. Wright

NHE PTA Membership Awards - August 2026
Texas PTA recognizes Local PTAs each month through its Monthly Membership Awards which are automatically based on membership totals reported by each month's deadline. August’s focus is the Head Start Award which encourages PTAs to jump-start the year by reaching at least 85% of the previous year’s final membership total!
NHE PTA finished the 2025-2026 school year with 653 members, including an exceptional 19% increase in membership from the year before. To earn the August Head Start Award, our goal is to have 555 members join or renew their NHE PTA membership this month and we have met 87% of our August goal. We would love your help in getting there!
NHE PTA Big Form and Membership Open - August 1, 2026
The PTA Big Form is your one-stop shop for getting connected, and supporting our PTA and school community. Through the Big Form, parents and guardians can renew or purchase a PTA membership, check out upcoming volunteer opportunities, order a birthday or 5th grade graduation marquee sign, explore Knighthood Fund donation opportunities, and more.
PTA welcomes, supports, and advocates for the inclusion of all caring individuals who are involved in a child’s life. Parents, caregivers, siblings, teachers, students, school leaders, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and community members...everyone is welcome to join PTA! Remember, a PTA membership must be renewed each school year. A one-time payment covers membership for one academic year only, so even returning members need to rejoin annually to stay active in our school.
NHE PTA General Membership Meeting - September 10, 2026
Join us for our first NHE PTA General Membership Meeting of the school year on September 10, 2026, following Open House! The NHE PTA Executive Board is recommending a proposed amendment to the PTA Bylaws and Standing Rules to streamline the Executive Board structure and focus membership on officers and key governance roles. The Standing Rules would also be updated to reflect these changes and ensure consistency between the organization’s governing documents.
In accordance with PTA requirements, and in the interest of full transparency, this information is being shared with the NHE PTA General Membership at least 30 days prior to the vote. The proposed NHE PTA Bylaws and Standing Rules amendments can be found here and will be presented at the first General Membership Meeting. The membership vote will take place at that time. The current NHE PTA Bylaws and Standing Rules may be reviewed here. We look forward to seeing you there!
🎫SBEF Style Show and Luncheon - September 11, 2026

NHE Bike Rack Volunteers - August 24-September 4, 2026
NHE Watch D.O.G.S. Volunteers - August 26, 2026
It's raining men! WATCH D.O.G.S.® (Dads of Great Students) is a nationally recognized family and community engagement program that brings positive male role models onto campus to support students and help promote a safe, welcoming school environment. Mark your calendars! Sign-ups for WATCH D.O.G.S. will open at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 for the fall semester only.
Because this is one of NHE's most popular volunteer opportunities, each male role model may volunteer one time for WATCH D.O.G.S. during the school year in an effort to keep the availability fair and equitable for all families. Please sign-up for only one time slot. If you volunteer in the fall as a WATCH D.O.G.S., you will not be eligible to volunteer again in the spring. A second opportunity to sign-up will be offered in January for the spring semester for those who have not yet served! Additional volunteer opportunities, such as lunch, recess, the Art Room, and more, are available to all parents and guardians, and provide a wonderful way to engage with your student and our school community!
Please join us in celebrating our wonderful staff by wishing them a happy birthday on their special day! A kind note or thoughtful greeting from students and families is a simple way to help them feel appreciated.
