Message from the Principal
Dear Mitchell High School Families,
As we take a short pause at the start of the second quarter and begin Fall Break, I want to thank our students, staff, and families for making the last several weeks successful. Parent-Teacher Conferences and the Marauders Parent Academy provided meaningful opportunities for partnership and collaboration focused on student achievement and postsecondary readiness. We also completed our first round of College Board PSAT/SAT practice testing, giving students valuable preparation and insights as they work toward future college, career, and scholarship opportunities. In addition, our seniors completed important College and Career Readiness Demonstrations, marking another step toward graduation and postsecondary readiness.
These accomplishments build on the momentum Mitchell has experienced this year. Together, we celebrate our improvement on the state performance framework, our strongest rating in more than a decade, and the collective effort moving our school forward. Every success reinforces our belief that when we maintain high expectations, strong relationships, and focus on student growth, great things happen for our students.
As we enjoy Fall Break this week, I encourage our entire Mitchell community to recharge physically, mentally, and emotionally. Whether spending time with family, enjoying the outdoors, reading a good book, exercising, pursuing a hobby, or simply resting, I hope everyone finds healthy and fulfilling ways to renew their energy and well-being.
When we return, we will continue the second quarter with renewed focus and purpose. There is much to be excited about as we build on the first quarter's successes and continue to strive for excellence. I am confident the determination, resilience, and commitment shown by our students, staff, and families will drive strong outcomes throughout the semester.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support of Mitchell High School, where we are getting those WINS!

Staff Shout Outs!
- Everyone involved in the college fair which took place at Mitchell last Thursday. Every representative from all the colleges had something good to say about Mitchell and our students. One of their best fairs. Students asked very good questions.
- All the teachers who attended all three parent-teacher conference sessions.
- All 150 parents who participated in parent-teacher conferences to partners with teachers and staff to ensure their student's success.
Weekly Celebration
This past week we held parent teacher conferences. We had a great parent turn out, over 100 parents came and spoke with our teachers about their students! When parents arrived they were given BAG reports, which went over their student's Behavior, Attendance, and Grades. Senior parents were able to go to the Future Center to attend a Parent Academy to learn about all things graduation. Teachers were set up in the cafeteria and library to take to parents as they passed through.

Mitchell Aerospace, STEM & CTE
π Skills, Certifications & Real-World Learning
Mitchell students continue turning classroom learning into skills they can take with them beyond high school. Students have earned 42 industry certifications so far this school year! Aviation, Construction, Robotics, Cybersecurity, and Digital Media are all helping students build skills and earn certifications that directly connect to college and career.
π€ More Ways for Students to Compete, Create & Explore
Mitchellβs first VEX V5 Robotics team continues its inaugural competition season, allowing students to put their engineering, problem-solving, teamwork, and programming skills into action. We are also expanding opportunities through SkillsUSA, where CTE students can showcase their skills and compete within their pathways. More Peak Experience visits will also bring elementary students back to Mitchell for planetarium and hands-on STEM experiences.
π Building the Next Step
Mitchell recently visited UCCS Engineering as we continue strengthening connections between our high school programs and opportunities students can pursue after graduation. The goal is simple: give students more chances to see themselves in engineering, aviation, cybersecurity, advanced manufacturing, and other STEM careers. As these relationships grow, Mitchell continues building stronger bridges from classroom learning to college, industry, and future careers.
Come sign up for our CTE courses for second semester and next year!
