Happy Friday Falcons!

Fall is here!

With all the heat and rescheduled events these last few weeks, I almost left my weekly message right there: fall is here. With this cooler weather also come a few big events to Olathe South. The first is Homecoming Week! Next week we will celebrate Homecoming with our spirit days, bonfire and powder puff event, Homecoming football game, and then end with our Homecoming Dance on Saturday. We hope our students have a fun and safe week as we celebrate our first dance of the year.

Academically, your student should now have mid-term grades for all of their classes. Now is a good time to check in about grades, discuss how to get help in classes where they are struggling, and celebrate academic success. Did you know that Olathe South is the only high school in Olathe to offer free peer-to-peer tutoring? Every day, a group of our Juniors and Seniors offers tutoring in the areas of Math, Science, Social Studies, English, and Writing during advisory. If your student is in need of some additional help, tell them to stop by during advisory!

Enjoy the fall weather and a bowl full of chili as we continue to make this one of the best years in South history!

Southside, Best Side!

Hy-Vee on 151st

One of the things that makes Olathe South special is the incredible support we receive from our community partners, and few have supported our Falcons more consistently than our friends at the 151st Street Hy-Vee.

From providing affordable groceries for our culinary programs, donating food to clubs and teams, supporting staff appreciation events, and welcoming our students into the store to raise funds for their activities, Hy-Vee continues to show up for the Southside in meaningful ways.

So, during the month of September, I’d like to challenge our Falcon families to return the favor. When it’s time to fill the fridge or make your weekly grocery run, consider making the 151st Street Hy-Vee your stop. It’s a simple way for our community to support a business that does so much to support our students, staff, and school.

They show up for the Southside. Let’s show up for them.
