A Message on National See Something Say Something Week A Message on National See Something Say Something Week

March 6, 2024

Dear Districts 67 and District 115 Parents, Guardians, Students, and Staff,

This week is National Say Something Week, and I’d like to share some important information.

This initiative is all about fostering a culture of safety and encouraging everyone to be proactive in reporting anything that could impact the well-being of our students, staff, and visitors. Sometimes, spotting warning signs isn't easy, but with your help, we can create a safer environment for everyone.

It all comes down to three things:

– Recognizing the Signs

– Acting Immediately, Taking It Seriously

– Saying Something

If you come across anything that raises concern, please speak up. Report it until you're confident that it's being addressed

Here's how you can report concerns:

  • Talk to a family member, teacher, dean, or other trusted adult.

  • Use our Reporting Tools for each district:

    • District 115

      • Confidential Reporting Tool.

    • District 67

      • Cherokee

      • Everett

      • Sheridan

      • DPM

  • Visit Safe2Help Illinois website for 24/7 reporting via calls, texts, web, email, or download the app. Safe2Help Illinois is designed to maintain confidentiality, aiming to encourage students to “Seek Help Before Harm” not to impose disciplinary measures

  • In an Emergency, Call 911. Local first responders are ready to help.

Your vigilance plays a vital role in ensuring the safety of our school community. Thank you for your commitment to the safety and well-being of our school community.

Best regards,

Did You Know?

Educational excellence is a long-standing tradition in our community, one that benefits us all. But with the increasing costs of providing a 21st century education and the limits on the LFHS budget, the ability to maintain that educational excellence is a challenge. That's where the Foundation comes in. Money raised by the Foundation help bridge that gap supporting innovation, enhancing the curriculum, and providing those things that are above and beyond for students and staff.

During the weekend of January 13th and 14th, hundreds of theater students from high schools all over Illinois participated in a performance of the comedy-action play, She Kills Monsters. One of these students was LFHS' very own senior Taylor Ross who had the role of Farrah in the show.

If you're reading this, you're probably slightly in shock, but let me let you in on a little secret: You're not "too good" for community college.
