Reminders Reminders

Dress Code

With the weather so warm this time of year, we ask that you please help us in making sure students are dressing according to the school's dress code. During recess and PE, students are required to remove their jackets and sweatshirts. Please check that your students are wearing something in dress code under their jackets. RISD dress code states:

  • An opaque top with a sleeve or strap and must cover the stomach, back, and chest area

Students also can not wear pajama pants to school unless their is a specific celebration day communicated with both students and parents.

Acrylic Nails

We are requesting that students refrain from wearing acrylic nails that are longer than the natural length of their nail and/or include extra jewels on them. They can be a danger to students playing at recess and in PE, are a safety issue that can prohibit them from completing science labs, and are a hindrance to the student's learning by effecting their ability to use their iPads and keyboards properly.

Thank you for your cooperation with this!

Gum

Gum is not allowed in 6th grade at OHE. Please do not allow your child to bring gum with them to school. It can be distracting to the student themselves and others and can be messy if not disposed of properly.
