Headphones Required for i-Ready Lessons

To support focused, independent learning during i-Ready lessons, all students are required to have a pair of personal headphones at school. This helps minimize distractions and allows each student to engage fully with their individualized instruction.

Parent Referral Window for GT/ASPIRE Testing 5th-11th Grade

Parents of students in grades 5–11 may submit referrals for GT or ASPIRE testing in Skyward from October 14–November 3.

Step-by-step directions for completing a referral in Skyward are available on the GCISD Advanced Academics website.

CMS Playbill Presents “The Cast List”
Join us for a night of laughter and drama as CMS Theatre brings The Cast List by Rocco Natale and Jason Pizzarello to life! Performances are October 23 & 24 at 7PM in the CMS Cafeteria.

COLT PRIDE AWARDS!

Every week our staff members have the opportunity to nominate one CMS Student to receive a Colt Pride Award. These students have demonstrated at least one of our Colt Pride Values: Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Discipline, Excellence! Way to go COLTS!

Counselor's Corner

GCISD is partnering with Recovery Resource Council to bring Drug and Alcohol prevention curriculum to middle school students. As approved by the GCISD Student Health Advisory Committee, sixth graders will receive six lessons using Positive Action curriculum during PE/Pre-Athletics in the Spring semester and seventh and eighth graders will each receive one Drug & Alcohol Prevention lesson in the Fall. All students will participate in this program unless a Parent Opt Out is received. If you need a paper copy of this, please contact your Student Advocate. El GCISD se ha asociado con el Recovery Resource Council para ofrecer un programa de prevención del consumo de drogas y alcohol a los alumnos de secundaria. Tal y como ha aprobado el Comité Asesor de Salud Estudiantil del GCISD, los alumnos de sexto curso recibirán seis lecciones del programa Positive Action durante las clases de educación física/preatletismo del semestre de primavera, y los alumnos de séptimo y octavo curso recibirán una lección de prevención del consumo de drogas y alcohol en otoño. 6th GRADE COTILLION VOLUNTEER INTEREST FORM

Our Cotillion Chairs Vanessa Kastler and Peyton Satterwhite have started working on Cotillion for our 6th graders. If you are interested in helping please fill out the google interest form below. There will be 4 fun filled nights and we need your help to make them amazing! Help will be needed with decor, food, set/up & clean/up, chaperone, photography. Please fill out your interests and they will be in touch!

Student Trip Opportunity (Non School Sponsored)

Dear families,

We’re thrilled to share that we’re heading to England, France on Spring Break in 2027, and we’d love for your student to join us!

This is an incredible opportunity for students to explore new places, experience different cultures, and gain lifelong skills like independence and confidence. I’ll be sharing all the details, including what we’ll see and do, hands-on learning activities, academic opportunities, trip costs, and how to secure a spot at our informational meeting.
