Principal's Message:
Happy Friday Hilton Families!
As a reminder, today (4/24) is my last day at Hilton before taking leave to be with our new baby boy. Starting on Monday, Ms. Hurley will be serving in an administrative role at Hilton for the remainder of the year. I will miss all our our wonderful students here at Hilton these last six weeks, and know that the incredible staff that we have here will continue to support students throughout the end of the year. I look forward to seeing you all, and your children, when I return for the next school year!
MSTEP Testing:
Our third graders will be taking the Math portion of the MSTEP state standardized test next week on Tuesday and Wednesday. During this time, please make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep, eats a good breakfast, and is on time for school. Our fourth grade students will begin their Math test the following week.
Election Day: May 5th
This year we have a spring election in Brighton, which will take place on Tuesday, May 5th. Hilton, along with a few other schools, will be a polling place. That being said, we will have regular school hours that day. Procedures will be put in place to ensure that voters are not in contact with students, and that Hilton remains a secure and safe place for all students and staff. For this specific day, voting will occur in the gym under the supervision of an additional security guard, and students cannot access the voting area. A separate entrance will be utilized for voters to keep them away from students during arrival. Gym classes and end of day dismissal will take place in the large motor room, away from voting. Officer Jen will continue her normal duties regarding the security of our school.
Neighborhood Reminders:
As a reminder, while the district has instated that we have no left turn out of the Hilton Elementary School parking lot during drop off and pick up times to alleviate more back ups, we do ask that you try not to cut through the neighboring subdivisions on your way out. We are getting reports of people speeding through these areas after leaving our parking lot. Thank you for your cooperation in this.
Warmly,
Erin Belanger
Hilton Elementary Principal
