Show Choir, if you can come on Thursday before school,

please do so!

Because of Conferences, we will not have Stage Dance on Monday after school or Show Choir on Thursday after school next week. Actors' Studio and Painting Crew will not meet next week as well since school is not in session for students on Friday. We will however, have 7/8 SIngers Rehearsal after school and all of the morning rehearsals! Since I have jury duty on Tuesday, October 15, I need all 7/8 Singers at rehearsal on this upcoming Tuesday!!!

All the music classes are great! The Vocal Power class performed their Broadway/Hollywood musical songs complete with choreography. This unit focuses on stage movement while singing. Music 6 started the Harmony Unit. They began playing four chord songs on the ukulele. They learned two basic strums and the C, F, am, and G chords. The Digital Music Class created compositions using the following compositional devices: Tonality Change, Retrograde, Inversions, Repetition, and Imitation. They also investigated Music Copyright Law cases in Popular Music. They wrote interesting comments about whether they felt the cases were resolved fairly. The Music Theater Workshop performed all of their scenes with accurate blocking and choreography!

Who will be in this year's photos?

We have some exciting changes for the 24/25 school year! 7/8 Singers and Show Choir will now be classes, part of the extended day for music students. Participants will be listed in Power School! Students will have a chance to have all of their dedication and skill acknowledged on the trimester report cards. Parents will be able to check their student's attendance.

Student attendance impacts the selection of soloists.

Please scan the Picture Day Pass to check for your name. If you notice that your name or a friend's name is not listed, please email me immediately: tbroeker@d64.org

If you are planning on joining, but have not done so already, email me.

I want everyone who participates in the pictures for the yearbook.

Compiling lists from the sign-in sheets is always challenging, so please do not take my mistakes personally. You will show this pass to your teacher to leave class to come to the foyer outside the cafeteria five minutes before our scheduled time.

This pass will also be emailed to teachers closer to October 22.

We are not taking the 7/8 Singers picture until January.
