Beginning with the goal of student success in mind, we are asking your collaboration on the following steps to be taken at home: 1) Get a good night's rest. 2) Ensure laptops are fully charged. 3) Eat a healthy breakfast. (Nicoloff provides free breakfast from 7:30am - 7:55am) 4) Arrive to school BEFORE 7:55am to help get students settled in. 5) Give encouraging words to your child. and 5) Provide a healthy snack. Planning ahead will help secure improved student outcomes.
Here are the exams coming up and links to help understand what they entail:
April 13-16 California Spanish Assessment in 3rd-6th graders in Dual Language Immersion.
April 20-23 English Learners will be taking the ELPAC tests. See ELPAC video for details.

Comenzando con el fin en mente del objetivo del éxito estudiantil, solicitamos su colaboración en las siguientes medidas a tomar en casa: 1) Asegurar una buena noche de descanso. 2) Verificar que las computadoras portátiles estén completamente cargadas. 3) Consumir un desayuno saludable (Nicoloff ofrece desayuno gratuito de 7:30 a. m. a 7:55 a. m.). 4) Llegar a la escuela ANTES de las 7:55 a. m. para ayudar a que los estudiantes se acomoden. 5) Brindar palabras de aliento a su hijo(a). The District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) meeting is taking place this Tuesday, April 14th at 9:00 a.m at Berry Elementary.

April/abril 15 @ Nicoloff PLC
Nicoloff will be hosting its ELAC meeting on Wednesday April 15 at 8:15 a.m in PLC to discuss the updates in DELAC. We will also be reviewing the ELPAC test that is coming up.

We have several field trips this month. Please note that students who pose a safety risk due to not following directions or eloping from adults will either need to be accompanied by their parent with a volunteer badge, or stay at Nicoloff for everyone's safety. Note that for safety purposes, ONLY parents with volunteer badges are allowed to attend.

Nicoloff will be offering Saturday Academy this coming Saturday to help our students get ready for the State Testing. If your child has not mastered their skills, please send them. To ensure we have enough breakfasts, please sign up in the office.

If you are interested in understanding the IEP process more, wish to participate more in your child's IEP, or have specific questions, consider joining our upcoming South County SELPA IEP Academy this Spring. The regional California Association for Bilingual Education will be having its conference on Tuesday, May 12th in Riverside, CA. Families who are interested in attending are encouraged to sign-up with Community Supervisor Ramirez. Nicoloff will pay for registration costs. See conference information HERE.
