PTA Weekly Update

Good morning Husky families!
A HUGE thank you to all who showed up for Bingo For Books! We had record numbers in attendance in the middle of a thunderstorm. Our Husky families are the best! Thank you for your patience, your willingness to sit on the floor, and for all who volunteered at the event: set up, concessions, bingo runners and writers, book table stockers, and everyone who helped clean up!
A few reminders:
- Need something fun to do with the kids when they're off school (again!) on Monday, January 19? Head over to Chuck-E-Cheese on Rt. 59 for a FUNdraiser! 20 percent of sales from 12 - 9 p.m. will go back to the school.
- Did you sign up/pay for your child to do the Tile Wall Project? Be sure to turn in artwork ASAP. We don't want your child to miss out!
The PTA executive committee is planning many fun, educational, and interesting events and programs for the second half of the school year. In addition to the newsletter, check our website for information on how you can support these programs.

Dough Raising Events are an opportunity to join with others in our Spring Brook Community for fun, food and a little fundraising. Our school will receive 20% donation of all sales generated during the event.
If you paid for your child to participate in the Tile Wall Project, make sure to turn artwork in ASAP! We don't want anyone to miss out.

A Note from Our Community Relations Chair:
As the PTA looks for new ways to partner with the community to enrich the lives of our students, we are expanding our sponsorship program for events during the 2025-2026 school year.
If your family owns or is connected to a local business and is interested in sponsoring a Spring Brook event, please see the attached letter for more information or reach out to Ellen Muryan.
PTA Meeting: January 29
Please join us in the Multipurpose Room for the first PTA meeting of 2026. It will be held on Thursday, January 29 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.
The board will meet to discuss upcoming plans, events, and more. You can ask questions, and hear from a guest Spring Brook staff member. Can't attend in person? Join via Google Meet. Login info to come.
Kids Heart Challenge: February 13
Spring Brook Elementary has joined the KHC Lifesavers League!
Each year, we participate in the American Heart Association's Kids Heart Challenge. Through this program, our students learn how to keep their hearts, bodies and brains healthy while helping kids with special hearts live longer, healthier lives. Click here to learn more about the KHC, to sign up your child, and get started on fundraising!
Mr. Vine shared information on how to join our online league, and it is attached here. We have a goal too raise $26,000 this year - let's see if we can achieve it!
Fundraising efforts will culminate in a fun-filled day of heart-healthy activity at Spring Brook on February 13. Parents interested in helping to facilitate the fun can sign up later this month.
Adult Social: February 21
Save the date and book a sitter! The Spring Brook Adult Social is an adults-only night of fun, offering the opportunity to support the efforts of the PTA while meeting other parents and enjoying each other's company. The evening will feature live music, hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar, wine pull, and silent auction.
If you are interested in sponsoring this event, helping collect auction items, or have items to donate to the auction, please contact us.
Tickets will go on sale January 19.

Stay tuned for additional opportunities to get involved. We will need a number of volunteers for events and programs in early 2026, such as:
- Kids Heart Challenge on February 13
- Adult Social on February 21
- STEM Night and Science Fair on March 23
- Spring Fling on April 24
- and more!
