ELA- Mrs. Forderhase

This week, we tackled three more signposts in literature: the Aha Moment, Tough Questions, and Words of the Wiser. Students are on the lookout for these signposts in their personal reading and should have three Writing about Reading (W.A.R.) entries in their thinkbooks so far. As always, thank you for encouraging your child to read at home regularly. If you would like to support our classroom library, please visit our class Amazon Wish List.

Science- Mrs. Kenney

This week in science, we moved into our Forces and Interactions Unit. On Monday, students finished their Density Summative Test. Next, students reviewed density by making a density lava lamp. Then, we discussed new vocabulary terms for magnetism. Finally, students worked on Magnetism labs. In the first lab, students used iron filings to observe the magnetic fields of magnets. We will continue with our Forces and Interactions unit next week.

Social Studies- Mr. Ward

This week in social studies, we began looking at Native American cultural regions. Students looked at cultural regions and determined opportunities and obstacles for each region. Students then read chapter 1 The Native Americans from History Alive and filled out notes. This chapter discusses the different cultural regions in America. It also discusses the many ways NativeAmericans used natural resources. The reading is located in Google Classroom and the notes were provided to students in the class.
