Dear Families,
This upcoming Sunday, May 31st, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity. The Gospel for this weekend reminds us of the profound foundation of our faith: "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son." The Holy Trinity is the ultimate model of relationship, unity, and perfect love. As a school, we are constantly called to reflect that same unity and collaborative spirit in how we support one another.
Reflecting on Our Catholic School Review
That beautiful spirit of community was on full display last week! We want to extend our deepest gratitude to all the parents, students, and staff who participated in our Catholic School Review.
These reviews take place on a regular rotation—about every four years—and serve several vital purposes for our school:
Celebrating and Enhancing: They offer our dedicated staff a valuable opportunity to refine our practices while celebrating the hard work they engage in daily to offer quality Catholic education to all.
Partnering with Parents: The review process allows parents to offer a uniquely valuable perspective while gaining a clearer understanding of the academic and spiritual standards we continually strive to uphold.
Student Success: Ultimately, every conversation, observation, and piece of feedback helps us to serve our students better.
We are forever grateful for the opportunity to work, learn, and grow together in a Catholic school setting where faith and excellence go hand in hand. The complete report of our Catholic School Review will be shared publicly in the next two weeks.
Looking Ahead As we prepare to turn our calendars, we have a very busy month ahead of us! We are gearing up to wind down this school year with final assessments, year-end celebrations, and joyful farewells, while simultaneously making exciting plans and preparations for the next school year.
Thank you for your unwavering partnership, your faithful support, and for making our school such a wonderful place to be.
Wishing you and your families a blessed and restful weekend,
Fiona Wimmer, Assistant Principal
Cathy Hinger, Principal

LEARNERS & LEARNING
Tansai Circle
Last week in the noon hour Tansai Circle Mrs. Odiobala and Ms. Niezen led the group through building and decorating our own talking sticks. We discussed the significance of the talking stick, and practiced using them. Students then got to colour their stick and add string, beads, and feathers.
Muttart Conservatory
Our grade 2 and 3 classes have each had a visit to the Muttart Conservatory to see in person the beauty of God's creation. Thank you to our parents for joining us on these fieldtrips.
SYSTEMIC WELLNESS
Madonna Jumps for Heart: Over $5,000 Raised!
Madonna students were wildly successful during their recent fundraising efforts for the Jump Rope for Heart organization, raising just over $5,000!
We were absolutely thrilled to participate in this program, which empowers kids to build heart-healthy habits and deeply understand the importance of giving back to those in need.
✝️ Our Catholic Faith in Action
As a Catholic school community, participating in events like this is a core part of who we are. It allows our students to put their faith into action by practicing stewardship—learning to care for their bodies as precious gifts from God. By raising funds for others, our students truly live out Christ’s call to love our neighbors through charity, compassion, and selflessness.
🎉 Celebrating Our Success
It was incredible to see the kids in action, encouraging each other to meet their goals and getting active! We celebrated their amazing success during our Event Day, where we wore hats and pajamas and were enthusiastically encouraged to "not walk in the hallways" (we hopped and skipped instead!) all day long.
We are deeply grateful for our Madonna families and everyone who supported our students through donations and encouragement. Special shout out to Mrs. Selinger for leading us in this initiative. Thank you very much for making this event a faithful, heartfelt success!
