The Texas Division of Emergency Management announced a coordinated statewide test of local alerting systems to evaluate the effectiveness and functionality of these public warning tools.

Last week, Mrs. White’s class participated in their very own “Market Day,” where they created items to sell and had the opportunity to shop as well. Through this hands-on activity, they practiced real-world skills like counting money, making change, and learning about the consumer and the seller.

It was awesome to see their creativity, excitement, and teamwork in action. Experiences like this bring learning to San Marcos in the best way!

On March 12-14, 2026 the S.M.H.S. Rattler Robotics Team #3679 loaded up and traveled to San Antonio’s Freeman Coliseum for the FIRST Robotics Competition. The team finished the competition placing 9th out of 37 teams.

Over Spring Break on March 19-21, the robotics team competed in Waco, Texas, where they finished 10th out of 25 teams. Through commitment, determination, and teamwork the Rattlers were kindly awarded the “Excellence In Engineering Award” at the end of the competition. Way to go Rattlers!

Rodriguez wrapped up the third-9 weeks with their traditional Knight's Day Assembly! Students were recognized by their teachers and staff for their hard work, growth, and positive impact in and out the classroom. Our Knights were all smiles as their names were called, celebrating the dedication and character they've shown all year long! Way to go Knights!

It was a joyful day at Hernandez today as our favorite fluffy friend and Farmer Vrana made a special appearance! Students were all smiles as they enjoyed their special egg, took photos, and gave high fives with our special guests. Laughter filled the hallways creating a fun and memorable moment for everyone. Events like these continue to make the season extra for our students, staff, and families!

Our Lady Rattlers made a statement with a dominant 13-1 win over Judson! The entire game was met with strong hits, solid defense, and great energy all around. A complete team win-way to handle business ladies!

This week, our Travis Texans were excited to welcome back Ned—reminding us all to Never Give Up, Encourage Others, and Do Your Best! Each year, Ned shares a powerful message that inspires our students to become the best versions of themselves, both in and out of the classroom. His visit came at the perfect time, encouraging everyone to finish the 2025–2026 school year strong with positivity and focus. We’re proud of our Texans for embracing these values and striving for success every single day!

Our San Marcos CISD Middle School student-athletes concluded the 2026 Track & Field season at yesterday’s district track meet in Seguin, TX. Miller 8th grade boys led the way, earning 1st place for the second year in a row and continuing an impressive run of success. Our Rattlers made their presence felt across the board, and we cannot wait to see how our incoming freshman will grow the program at SMHS next year!

Our Bonham Bears had a great time at the San Marcos Public Library this week! They took a full tour of the facility, enjoyed story time with the Librarian, and even got to watch Little red riding hood come to life through a puppet show. A Perfect day of learning and imagination!
