News You Can Use
Thank you for a great year!
What an incredible journey this school year has been! As we wrap up our final day, I want to take a moment to celebrate the growth, hard work, and many accomplishments of our students. Their resilience and enthusiasm have made this year truly special.
Thank you for your unwavering support, trust, and partnership. Your involvement has been key to our success and to the positive, nurturing environment we’ve built together.
On a personal note, I want to share my heartfelt gratitude as I prepare to transition into a new role outside the district. It has been a true honor to serve this school community. I’m incredibly proud of all we’ve accomplished together, and I will carry these memories and the lessons learned with me always.
Wishing you a joyful, relaxing summer and continued success in the year ahead!

2025-2026 School Year Information
Tentative Sections for Next Year
District 58 is nearing the end of the registration process. Thank you to the families that have completed the process. Having accurate registration numbers is essential for determining the number of sections at our school. At this time, our tentative sections and teachers for next year are as follows:
Pierce Downer
K/1- Acevedo
1/2- Barc
3, 4, 5- Bilotta
Indian Trail
K/1- Kollintzas
1/2- Price
2/3- Zilleox
4, 5, 6- Hamilton
Please note that sections for next year are still ultimately tentative. The reason for this is that things can change over the summer if students move out, move in, or if the State of Illinois or the Federal Government changes the amount of revenue our District will receive. Final sections are always shared by the Principal in August.
Specialized Transportation Sign-Up for 25/26 School Year
To help us plan for a smooth start to the school year, we are asking families of students who have specialized transportation listed in their IEP to complete the sign-up form linked below. This will ensure your child’s transportation is secured for the start of school in the fall.
This form is only for students who receive specialized transportation services as part of their IEP and attend school within the district. If your child attends an out-of-district school (such as SASED), you will receive a separate link specific to those placements.
We ask that you complete the form as soon as possible so we can finalize transportation routes and details.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or myself.
Important Information for 6th & 7th Grade Parents
Does your student plan to participate in a fall sport in middle school? A completed sports physical is required for all middle school athletes—even for practice before tryouts.
Since fall sports practices begin before the school year starts, we strongly encourage you to schedule your child’s sports physical as soon as possible to ensure they are eligible to participate. Sports physicals are valid for 13 months from the exam date, so be sure your child’s physical is up to date. Our health offices are currently accepting physicals dated after September 2nd, 2024.
Please submit completed sports physicals to Michelle McGarry- mmcgarry@dg58.org before the first practice. If you have any questions about requirements, feel free to reach out.
Thank you for your attention to this important step in preparing for a great season!

Community Resources
Share the Find Food IL Community Food Map
The Find Food IL Community Food Map is an excellent tool for individuals to find places offering free food or meals; school and Summer Meal programs; and grocery stores and farmers markets accepting SNAP/Link, WIC, and senior vouchers. ISBE partnered with the University of Illinois Extension to help families identify what is available in their community more easily.
Many students rely on school for access to meals. Especially as we enter the summer months, you can help by sharing the Find Food IL Community Food Map with your students and families. Those interested in linking to this resource can download hosting guidelines on the Illinois Nutrition Education Programs website. Contact Caitlin Kownacki or read the press release for more information.
