From the Desk of Principal Piger...
Greetings, Cardinal Families,
Welcome to October! As we settle into the school year and autumn, the energy across our hallways and classrooms has been extremely positive. It was inspiring to see our school community come together to celebrate during Homecoming as the school pride and enthusiasm from our students, staff, and families made it a truly memorable week.
This edition of our newsletter highlights the Davison Cardinal spirit by showcasing the hard work and achievements of our students and staff, both in the classroom and throughout the community.
Our school’s success is built on the strength of our partnership with you.
As we look ahead, we strongly encourage all parents and guardians to join us for our upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences, October 14th and 15th. These meetings are a wonderful opportunity to connect with teachers, discuss student progress, and ensure we are working together to support your child's success.
Thank you to our students, parents, and staff for your continued dedication to making Davison High School such a supportive and amazing place to learn and grow.
Sincerely,
Jerry Piger
Principal

From the Guidance Office...
DHS has over 20 scheduled college and universities from around the state coming to visit during the month of October. During rep visits, you will learn about: the application process, campus life, cost of attendance, programs of student, financial aid options, scholarships, and MORE! 11th and 12th grade students should sign up in their Class of 2027/2028 google classroom.
There are tables of free clothing located outside of the main office. Each Monday, new to you clothing options are added to the tables. Students are welcome to take whatever they may need. As the colder months approach, we will be adding winter coats to the coatracks.

Varsity Choir spent the first Friday of the school year on Friday, August 21st at the University of Michigan-Flint for a Day of team-building and music making. They worked with the Vocal Instructor, Julie Ann Carr and the Choral Director, Dr. Gabriela Hristova. They enjoyed the beauty of the campus, built new relationships and they had a strong start on their new music for this fall.
From Mrs. Heath...
Our phlebotomy class has to get 30 successful blood draws before testing for certification. They have been practicing, even on some staff members! Superintendent Lobban noticed what these students were learning and wanted in on doing a blood draw for fun and practice himself!
From Ms. Sanderson...
Davison High School and Davison Alternative Education Art students were honored at an opening reception for the Credit Union One Cardinal Gallery on September 9. The event was not only the inaugural reception in a new location, but also the 20th year of partnering with our fine arts department to provide a dedicated platform for young artists in the community. Since 2006, credit union staff have selected artwork made by students from DHS and DAE during the Spring Art Show; they professionally frame and display their pieces for the public to enjoy for the year.
The gallery is free and open to all, so stop in to view the impressive collection! The Cardinal Gallery is now located inside the new location of Credit Union One at 8079 Lapeer Road in Davison.

From Mrs. Stedry...
Huge shoutout to everyone who supported the Davison Key Club and Davison Township Police "Cops and Cans" service project—it was a success!
Together, our community stepped up to make a real difference:
243 non-perishable food items collected
$71 raised in cash donations
All food and funds have been delivered directly to the Davison United Methodist Church Food Distribution Center to help feed local families in need.
Thank you to the Davison Township Police Department for partnering with us, and to every single person who dropped off a can or chipped in a donation. We couldn't have done it without this incredible community!
From Mrs. Holt and Mr. Starr...
Perfumes, body sprays and other spray hygiene products are not allowed in schools or on buses.
The start of the school year is a great time to remind our students about the essential tools for success. Encouraging them to organize and prioritize their homework and tasks can make a significant difference. Additionally, reminding them to come to school with a charged Chromebook, arrive on time, and regularly check StudentVue for any missing work or current progress will help them stay on track. Your support and collaboration is much appreciated!
