Dear Gompers Students and Families,

I hope this letter finds you well and excited for the upcoming school year. My name is Mr. Raύl Gastόn, and I am honored to serve as the new Principal of Gompers Jr. High School. I am thrilled to join this wonderful community and look forward to working together to ensure a successful and enriching school year for all our students.

As we embark on this new academic journey, I emphasize our commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. At Gompers Jr. High, we believe that every student can achieve greatness, and it is our mission to provide the tools, resources, and encouragement needed for each student to thrive.

This year, we will continue to build on the solid foundation of academic excellence, personal growth, and community involvement that Gompers Jr. High is known for. Our dedicated staff supports your child's educational journey and collaborates with families to create a nurturing and stimulating environment.

To ensure a smooth start to the school year, please take note of the following important dates and information:

Back-to-School Open House: Tuesday, August 20, 2024, 4:30-6:00 PM
First Day of School: Wednesday, August 21, 2024

Student Morning Arrival: 7:25 AM to 7:35 AM
School Hours: 7:45 AM to 2:35 PM

Picture Day: Monday September 30, 2024, during the morning

Tuesday, 8.20.24, 4:30p-6:00p
All registered students and their parent/guardian are invited to attend our Open House. At the Open House, students will receive:

Class schedule
Bus Pass
After School Programing Information by the YMCA
Resources and library card from the Joliet Public Library
Music program information from the Music Parent Association
Attendance Matters from the Attendance Committee
6th Grade Presentation at 5:30 PM in the Auditorium
and much more!!!

IMPORTANT NOTICES!!!

If your student is NOT registered, please call our office at 815.727.5276 immediately so we can assist you and have everything ready for your student to attend the Open House and be able to start on the first day of school.
Lockers will NOT be available until the first day of school. Please bring school supplies to place in lockers on Wednesday, 8.21.24, on the first day of school.
