Superintendent'sLetter Friday, September 17, 2021

Dear Students, Staff, Families, and Community Members,

This past week, I had the pleasure of visiting our schools. It is wonderful to see our administrators, staff, and students engaged in learning and be able to talk with them in person!

Newsletter Topics:

  • Update PreK-12th grade Students and Staff voluntary COVID testing via Concentric (vendor)
  • Mount Lebanon Elementary School Principal, Mr. Gino LoRicco, Resignation Announcement

Voluntary COVID Testing for Staff and Students

Thank you to our families and staff members who are participating in voluntary COVID testing.

At this time due to challenges in locating nursing staff, Concentric voluntary COVID testing is on hold. We will definitely let you know when we are able to start testing.

To sign up your PreKindergarten-12th grade child, 17 years old or younger, for voluntary COVID testing, please use this link.

For staff and students who are 18 years or older please use this link to sign up for voluntary testing.

When prompted please use the following access codes:

  • Hanover Street School: 532H6E
  • Lebanon Middle School: 81ZM9C
  • Mount Lebanon Elementary School: XHBBGP
  • Lebanon High School: KLFZAN

PreKindergarten through 12th-grade parents will need to complete a separate form for each child participating in voluntary COVID testing.

Mount Lebanon Elementary School Principal, Mr. Gino LoRicco, Announcement of Resignation

Due to unforeseen health circumstances, Mr. LoRicco has submitted his resignation effective as of today. Mr. LoRicco's passion for education, desire to ensure each child has a positive and nurturing school experience, and his support and celebration of MLS staff and students was evident. Due to his efforts, Mr. LoRicco is leaving MLS in a good place to continue moving forward in the future and he will be missed.

His letter to families is as follows: Mr. LoRicco's letter to MLS families

Upon receiving Mr. LoRicco's notice we immediately focused on ways to support MLS staff, students, and families through the rest of the school year. We will be making decisions in the next few weeks that will keep MLS moving forward and will definitely keep MLS staff and families up-to-date.

In Closing

This year continues to be one of many unknowns and unexpected challenges. Together, we will continue to problem-solve and take action as things come our way.

Please know that we are grateful for your patience, understanding, and support. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Dr. Joanne Roberts
