Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year!

I would like to extend a very special welcome to our new students, staff members, and families who are joining our Mustang family. I would also like to welcome back our returning students and staff members. Our mantra here at Cove Road is "Be The Good" and we try to incorporate that into our daily activities.

A few reminders for you as we begin this school year. Please make sure you have signed up for Realtime Alerts through the Parent Portal, as all communications go out electronically. Please also make sure you have updated your contact information in the Portal, including all emergency contact information. All students will receive a packet of forms on the first day of school. Please sign and return all these forms by September 18th. These forms and all important information can be found on the homepage of the Cove Road website and in the Cove Road e-Backpack.

If you have any issue or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to myself or any staff member here at Cove Road School.

Looking forward to an adventurous school year!

Welcome back to school! I hope everyone has had a wonderful summer and is looking forward to a fantastic school year. My goal is to help keep our students healthy, safe and ready to learn.

Important Reminders

Medication at School: If your child needs to take medication during the school day, please bring the medication in its original labeled container along with a completed Medication Administration

Authorization form signed by the student’s health care provider and parent/guardian. This form should be completed for prescription medication and over the counter medications (such as acetaminophen, ibuprofen, or cough drops)

Action Plans: If your child has a chronic medical condition such as asthma, diabetes, seizures, severe allergies, or another health condition, please provide an updated physician-signed action plan each school year so we can provide the appropriate care for your student during the school hours.

Keep the Nurse Informed: Please notify the school nurse of any new medical diagnoses, allergies, surgeries, medications, or other health concerns. Keeping your student’s health information current helps us ensure a safe and successful school year. If your student is out for three (3) or more days for any illness a note is required to return to school. Additionally, if your student will not be attending school, please contact the school using the crsattendance.org email, or you may leave a message on the school nurse’s voicemail. Please do no email the nurse directly for absence notifications.

Thank you for partnering with Cove Road School to support the health and well-being of our students. Medical forms are located in the School’s e-Backpack on the Cove Road Website. I look forward to working with you and your family this school year.

ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL INFORMATION ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL INFORMATION

PARENT PICK-UP & WALKERS

5th Grade students arrive and dismiss through the side entrance near the playground through Door # 7. Follow the pattern laid out with orange cones for pick-up and drop-off.

6th Grade students are dismissed through the front entrance.

If your student is normally a bus student but will be a walker on a particular day, you must send in a note or email their teacher to inform the school. Students will not be dismissed as walkers without a note.

Absences and lates can be reported by either calling the school at 732-264-5050 ext. 4003 (or choosing the option for the Nurse), or emailing crsattendance@hazlet.org. Please do not email the nurse directly for absence reporting. In the event the nurse is absent, those messages will not be seen.

IMPORTANT CHROMEBOOK INFORMATION IMPORTANT CHROMEBOOK INFORMATION

All 5th grade students must have their chromebook contract acknowledged in the parent portal before they will be issued a new chromebook. In addition, if there are any fines owed from last year, those must be paid before a new chromebook will be issued.

District chromebook policy this year: No student will be issued a loaner chromebook if they have forgotten their chromebook at home or forgot to charge it. Students will not be allowed to call home for forgotten chromebooks. If a student does not have their chromebook, they will have to do their work on paper.

There are a limited number of refurbished chargers available for purchase for $10. If you have lost your charger, they will be available for purchase on a first come, first serve basis. Cash (exact amount) or checks made out to Hazlet Board of Education can be brought to the main office.
