Message from the Principal Message from the Principal

It was great to see everyone back with smiling faces and hear students sharing stories about what they did over the break! I look forward to a strong second quarter filled with learning, growth, and continued success.

Please note that we will not be participating in Homecoming Week with the secondary campus. Instead, we will have our own dress-up days at the end of the month in celebration of Red Ribbon Week. More information can be found in the newsletter below!

🌟 Instructional Coaches Appreciation Day! 🌟

Monday was Celebrate Instructional Coaches Day, and we want to take a moment to celebrate and thank our incredible instructional coaches, Mrs. Cociu and Mrs. Stanol-Cortez!

Their guidance, encouragement, expertise, and dedication make a meaningful difference in the lives of our teachers and students. They are a source of support, collaboration, and inspiration, helping our teachers grow, strengthen instruction, and ultimately create better learning experiences for our students.

Their impact reaches far beyond the work they do each day, and we are so grateful to have them as an important part of our school team!

Thank you for all you do to support, encourage, and empower our educators. We appreciate you!

Attendance Matters! Attendance Matters!

October is Attendance Matters Month at NYOS! From October 6–30, we're challenging every Jaguar, PK–12, to miss no more than one day of school. It's an exciting month to be a Jaguar, with Red Ribbon Week celebrating healthy choices at our elementary campus and Homecoming Week bringing the spirit to our secondary campus. Strong attendance builds both academic success and school spirit, and we want every student here for all of it.

Students who stay on track will earn recognition along the way, including a Free Perk Friday on October 23 and Blueprint Builder wristbands and certificates on October 30. Every grade level that reaches its attendance goal will celebrate together in November. Families, thank you for being our partners! We want our Jaguars here every day, learning, growing, and celebrating with their friends and teachers. Your encouragement at home makes all the difference, and we're cheering on every student to show up, finish strong, and earn every reward. Every day counts!

Counselors’ Corner: Living Our Mission Counselors’ Corner: Living Our Mission

This week, our students have been revisiting their class mission statements and thinking about what they want their classroom to be known for. We have been discussing how a mission statement can guide our choices, give us direction, and help us create the kind of classroom community we want to be. At home, consider asking your child, “What does our family want to be known for?” You might even work together to create a simple family mission statement that reflects what matters most to your family.
