Field Day Info Field Day Info

Field Day 2026 is next week:

  • 3rd Grade - Monday, May 11th
  • 4th Grade - Tuesday, May 12th
  • 5th Grade - Wednesday, May 13th

I hope that you will be able to come and cheer on your child(ren). If you do attend, there are several things that you should be aware of:

  • Please show good sportsmanship.
  • Students will sit with their homeroom teacher when not participating. Field Day is a school day, and the teachers are responsible for the students.

  • Seating is available for parents and visitors on the bleachers. You may also want to bring a chair and a pop-up tent since there is very little shade.

  • Students will NOT be allowed to leave campus and return on Field Day. (Exception: a doctor/dentist appointment with a written excuse from the doctor’s/dentist’s office.)

  • Students will be marked absent from school if they come to watch a Field Day that is not their own (i.e., coming to watch a sibling’s Field Day).

  • Family members must remain in the bleachers and not go onto the field or sit with the classes.

  • The playground will be closed during Field Day.

  • Restrooms will be available outside; parents may not enter the school building.

  • Concessions will be for sale throughout the day.

  • A sign-out sheet will be available outside; you must have your I.D. to sign out a student.

  • Rain/Inclement Weather: We will move field day inside to the gym if there is inclement weather. Unfortunately, parents will not be allowed to come inside due to a lack of space in the gym.

  • An announcement will be sent out the night before about whether we will be outside or moving into the gym. Thanks for your understanding.

  • Students participating in water events need a towel and a change of clothes, especially if they are riding a bus home.

Lunch: Parents can sit with their child, but the cafeteria will not have extra food prepared.
  • 3rd Grade

    • Gym - Crawford, Looper, Rivero / Cafeteria - Jewell, Jordan, Stewart

  • 4th Grade

    • Gym - Melton, Rhodes, Cooley / Cafeteria - Madison, McMahan, Dabney

  • 5th Grade

    • Gym - Poore, Brightman, Kay / Cafeteria - Yates, Pruitt, Walters

Thanks,

Coach Davis

BES sends home a paper copy of quarterly Progress Reports and Report Cards to every student. Here are two ways to keep up with your child's grades throughout the school year...

  1. Weekly Progress Email - You should be receiving a weekly email with your child's progress report. If you are not, please call the office to get your email address updated in our system.
  2. Parent Portal App - Download the PowerSchool App today to receive grade notifications!
    • Parents who've created an account, but unable to login should contact the PowerSchool Helpdesk. Provide your name, your child's name, and a contact phone number where you can be reached when emailing.

Attendance Reminders Attendance Reminders

Tardy - To be considered on time, the child must be sitting in their classroom at 7:45am. At 7:45am, our front door locks. The parent/guardian/driver will be expected to park their car and sign their child in at this point. Officer Hodges, our School Resource Officer, will be there to remind whoever is dropping off your child. Our instruction begins at 7:45am, so being late for school results in loss of instruction.

Early Dismissal - Students will not be allowed to be dismissed between 2:00-2:30pm for Early Dismissal. Please plan to pick your child up before then, if you have a doctor's appointment. Repeated Early Dismissals could result in an Attendance Plan.

Absences - It is imperative that your child is at school. We have a new system, and will be monitoring attendance very closely. You are allowed to turn in up to 5 Parent Notes to cover an unexcused absence. An example of a Parent Note would be a low grade fever, throwing up, etc. If you take your child to the doctor, please be sure to turn in the medical note. A student is considered truant with 3 consecutive absences or 5 unlawful absences. At this point, an Attendance Meeting will be scheduled with the Parent/Guardian and administration to create an Attendance Plan. Continued truancy will result in turning the plan over to the Anderson County Board.
