Jackrabbits Newsletter
Building on our Success September 24th - 29th
Week #9 Jackrabbits Learning Community
Happy start of Fall, Jackrabbits!
We are officially in the last week of our first nine-weeks. With only one more week until the intersession break our team is diligently preparing to offer our scholars the opportunities for smaller group interventions and instructional acceleration not to mention additional time for possible loss of credit make-ups and English as a Second Language (ESL) Academy.
Please ask your child or look in backpacks for parent permission slips for the week of Oct. 2nd through the 5th. Lunch will be provided to those in attendance. Attendance incentives will be awarded daily during these four days. Check with your child's teacher for more information.
Transportation will also be available for those who qualify for services. Our transportation department will be providing their bus route schedule prior to Intersession. At that time, the routes will be shared out.
Fall Intersession Break: Oct. 2nd - 13th. Staff Development Oct. 16th, No school for scholars.
Provided below is our district and campus policy that must be enforced on the use of personal cell phones and other devices during the regular school day. We are experiencing more students on their phones while instruction is happening and prior to dismissals. This is a safety and privacy concern. We highly encourage parents and guardians talk to their child to avoid such disruption. Thank you in advance for your continued support!
Science Fair dates; Deadline for campus submissions is Sept. 25th.
Campus Science Fair will be Oct. 20th. Please check with your child's teacher for class timelines. This is mandatory for all scholar/ scientist.
I do asked for your continued support with our cafeteria outstanding charges. We do need your support also with the 249 meal applications needing completion. We are offering incentives for students and grade levels reaching 100%. Know that we are here to support you since collection of both initiatives impact our entire school.
In this newsletter you will find information regarding Intersession, Food Pantry, Spirit Night, safety drills and much more.

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes
In celebration of birthdays, Please remember to send cupcakes, fruit drinks, and snacks by 7:45 a.m. We will not except deliveries after the tardy bell at 7:45 a.m. Thank you for your understanding.
What Matters is:
We have a committed effort to ensure better attendance and punctuality for all students. Expectation is that we need parents' support with bringing scholars to school before the 7:45 a.m. tardy bell. Scholars must be in their classroom by this time. Breakfast will be served until 7:40 a.m. to allow for daily instruction to begin.
Student tardies are a parent issue. I do ask for your support in getting our students in the building prior to 7:45 a.m. Please make sure to plan accordingly so that your child(ren) are not penalized with lunch detention. Three tardies constitutes detention. I remind students to assist at home by setting an alarm, having backpacks and other materials ready so they are not rushing in the morning. Allowing scholars ample time for breakfast in the classroom to help transition into daily learning.
