Prevention Programming
Fall Update

Welcome to our NEW Prevention Newsletter! Each quarter, we will highlight current prevention initiatives, educational programming, and available resources designed to help our families and students.
Healthy Choices Week
October is Substance Abuse Prevention Month. NPS will celebrate Healthy Choices Week October 26-30th discussing lots of ways to stay healthy, including saying no to drugs and alcohol. Students will learn about the importance of healthy sleep routines, nutrition, physical activity, and positive mental health. Elementary students will learn about prescription medication safety and secondary students will learn about the dangers of fentanyl and other illicit drugs. Check out more Healthy Choices Week resources here.
Child Safety Kit
Along with talking to students about substance abuse prevention, adults can take one step further and lock up dangerous substances and weapons. We encourage families to register for a Child Safety Kit which can include a medical lockbox and firearm lock paid through the Opioid Abatement Grant. Register for a kit here while supplies last: https://bit.ly/3VwKoJD
