Dear Isaac Fox Families,

I hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful Spring Break along with the extended weekend that followed! It's nice to be reunited and ready to continue our learning as we "lock in" and begin the final stretch of the school year—an incredibly meaningful and busy time in our Fox community! First things first, please mark your calendars for our upcoming Open House that will be held next week, on Wednesday, April 15th from 6:00-7:00pm. A important note about parking: Parking is permitted in the front and back lots of Isaac Fox, the MSS lots, as well as the lot near the soccer field off of Deerpath. It is important to avoid parking in any fire lane as well as any grass areas. Hope to see you there!

There is no shortage of important updates and celebrations to share, so I encourage you to take a few moments to read through this entire newsletter. Inside, you’ll find highlights of student accomplishments and opportunities, important information regarding student placement and registration for the upcoming school year, exciting summer learning opportunities, and a variety of PTO-sponsored events, such as our first Culver's "Celebrity Night", the Spring Book Fair, and our much anticipated student muscial, Finding Nemo, Jr.!

We all know it's tough to cook after an extended weekend, so plan to join us tomorrow at our PTO “Celebrity Night” at Culver's from 4:00–7:00 PM, Isaac Fox staff will be serving meals to our families—it’s bound to be a fun and memorable event for students and staff alike. Be sure to stop by and join us for a great evening together!

As always, thank you for your continued partnership and support. We are looking forward to a strong finish to the school year with our amazing students and families!

With Gratitude,

Mrs. Kelly Olivero
Principal, Isaac Fox Elementary

Kindergartener Gabriella Mauro represents Isaac Fox as the March Student of the Month!

Gabby was chosen to receive this honor because she truly lives out the values of our 'Portrait of a Graduate' every single day. She comes to school with such a great attitude and a genuine eagerness to learn, always working hard and doing her absolute best on everything.

What stands out most about Gabby is her empathy and compassion for others. She is a strong advocate, whether she’s asking for help for herself or making sure a classmate gets the support they need. Her gentleness and kindness are constant; one day when a classmate was sad, Gabby got up and hugged the other student without any hesitation, letting her know it would be alright. She also shows real leadership through her problem-solving and her courage to stand up for friends when someone is being unkind. Mr. Rogers famously said, 'Look for the helpers'—and that is exactly who Gabby is. Whenever I ask for a helper, she is the first one out of her seat with an infectious smile, ready to jump in. Way to go Gabby! All of the foxes are so proud of you!

Congratulations to our 2026 Grand Battle of the Books Champions!

Battle of the Books is a team-based reading competition where students read a set list of books, collaborate with teammates, and compete in a quiz-style event to demonstrate their understanding of characters, plots, and key details.

Through this experience, students strengthen their comprehension skills, build teamwork, and develop a deeper love for reading. It’s a true celebration of both academic effort and collaboration.

A huge congratulations to our 2026 Grand Battle Champions at Isaac Fox—the Rockstar Readers who scores 145 points during this year's competition! This team showed outstanding teamwork, dedication, and passion for reading. The Rockstar Readers included teammates Natalie Chun, Disha Harish Jadav, Emma Johnson, Evelyn Melin and Elizabeth Semenets! What an accomplishment!

Sadie Salamondra gets a chance to be Superintendent for a Day!

Sadie Salamondra had an incredible opportunity to experience a “day in the life” of the superintendent in LZ District 95 after winning this special experience at the D95 Foundation’s Joannie’s Closet Dance. This lucky 3rd grader was able to invite a fellow Fox to join her and chose Vivienne Niersbach for the day at the district office.

Their day was filled with exciting behind-the-scenes experiences, including reviewing the day’s agenda and meeting with team members from Student Services, Human Resources, Technology, Communications, and Curriculum & Instruction. The safety vests, walkie-talkies, and official badges were definitely a highlight!

Sadie, Vivienne, and Dr. Gallit even Zoomed into Mrs. Green’s class back at Isaac Fox to share a glimpse of their day. What an unforgettable experience—it certainly makes you wonder if we’re looking at future leaders in the making!

We’re excited to launch our One Book, One School reading experience featuring A Rover's Story by Jasmine Warga! This special initiative brings our entire school community together through a shared story of curiosity, perseverance, and connection.

Books will be sent home with students on April 9, and our schoolwide reading will officially begin on April 13. To celebrate, we invite families to join us for our kickoff event—a fun and creative Rover Build-A-Thon!

During this optional hands-on experience, families can work together to design and build their own “rovers,” inspired by the story.

Be sure to check out the provided link below for event details, materials, and participation information. We look forward to exploring this incredible story together as a school community! Please direct any questions to Mrs. Kuehl or Mrs. Kunkel.

Registration for the 2026–2027 school year is now open! We encourage families to complete registration as early as possible, as early registration helps our school plan staffing, class placements, and resources to best support students for the upcoming year. Thank you for taking a few minutes to complete registration promptly and for helping us prepare for another successful school year at Isaac Fox!

Student Teacher Assignments for 2026-2027 School Year: 4.15 Deadline

This is the time of year where our staff will begin the process of student/teacher assignments for the 2026– 2027 school year. The entire staff plays a role in this process, as we work to place each of the children into the very best setting. We consider learning styles, student personalities, girl/boy ratio, class size, and student academic strengths and needs, all while striving for a heterogeneous class make-up (full range of abilities).

If you would like to share something about your child’s learning style or personality that would help us with this placement process, please submit your letter to me, Kelly Olivero, @ kelly.olivero@lz95.org no later than end of the school day Wednesday, April 15, 2026. We trust that you will rely on our professional judgment, as we group each of the children with the idea of creating the best learning environment possible for everyone. With that being said, requesting particular teachers will not be accepted.

Portrait of a Graduate Focus for April: Portrait of a Graduate Focus for April:

FUTURE READY FUTURE READY

Our April Portrait of a Graduate focus is being Future Ready. At the elementary level, this means helping students build the skills, mindsets, and habits they need to succeed in an ever-changing world. Being future ready looks like developing curiosity, problem-solving skills, adaptability, responsibility, and a willingness to try new things—even when challenges arise.

Families can support this at home by encouraging children to ask questions, explore their interests, and take on small responsibilities. Talk with your child about their goals, celebrate effort over perfection, and help them learn from mistakes. Providing opportunities for independence, teamwork, and real-world problem solving—like helping plan a family activity or managing a small task—can go a long way in building confidence and preparing them for the future.

Crossing Deerpath - Please use crosswalk!

When dropping off or picking up your student, parents are able to park in the lot near the soccer fields located along Deerpath Road. During these time, we ask families to please cross only within the designated crosswalk area from the soccer field parking lot to the school grounds. Guardians, staff, and buses all use this route, and it can become quite busy during these times. By following crosswalk procedures and traffic expectations, you help ensure the safety of all members of our community while also modeling positive habits for our children. Thank you for doing your part to keep Isaac Fox a safe and caring place for everyone.

No Left Turn During Drop Off TIme

There have been an increase in the number of cars that have been avoiding the car drop off line and turning left to drop off directly in front of the main entrance. It is vital that our bus line remains open during this time. As you enter through the front entrance off Cuba Rd., please turn right and follow the drop off line. Our supervisors ensure that the line moves with efficiecy and also remains safe. Your cooperation is appreciated!

Car Pool Lane Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures

When dropping off or picking up your student in the car lane near MSS, it is important that you remain in your car at all times. Students need to be exiting the vehicle on the side nearest the sidewalk and schools. If students need help unbuckling, buckling, gathering and carrying items, then it is best to park in a spot in front of MSS or alternatively use the back lot near the soccer field and walk your child into school. Following this procedure helps maintain safety and efficiency as we get our students from home to school and back again each day. Thank you for your cooperation!

Addition of Cones to AM Arrival Carpool Pickup Zone

During the colder weather months, we often see an increase in the number of students being driven to school and dropped off in the morning. As a result, it is important that our drop-off procedures remain both efficient and—most importantly—safe. There is no need to pull all the way up to the stop sign before your child exits the vehicle. The designated drop-off zone, marked by two large orange cones, begins at the Middle School South entrance and extends up to the stop sign. Once you have come to a complete stop within this zone, it is safe for your student to exit the vehicle on the sidewalk side. Please take a moment to review the standing reminders included later in this newsletter, and thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and smooth arrival process for everyone.

If you need to communicate with your child during the school day, please contact the school office. This includes times such as lunch and recess. Our office staff will make sure your message is delivered or will connect you with your child if it’s necessary in the moment.

We also remind students that if they need to reach you, they should always ask an adult in the building for assistance. Please take a moment to talk with your child about what to do if they need to contact you during the school day and model appropriate communication practices.

By following this process, students can stay focused on learning, and our staff can best support them if a need arises. Thank you for your cooperation and partnership!

Parent Student Handbook: 6.80 Student Use of Electronic Devices

Parent Communication Guidelines

School staff work diligently to create environments that foster learning with minimal distractions. A personal electronic device (i.e., cell phone, smart watch) can be a distraction for a student during the school day. District 95 seeks to partner with parents/guardians so that we can minimize distractions during class time. To this end, parents are discouraged from communicating to their student's personal electronic device during school hours – apart from exceptional/emergency situations.

Pick up Time and Change in Transportation Method

Understand that no changes in student transportation will be made without a written or verbal request from a parent or guardian.

Once we have established your designated travel, you must notify your child’s teacher and the office in writing or via phone call each time a change is made from that routine. If a change in transportation is necessary please adhere to the following guidelines: Notify the office of the dismissal change via note or phone call prior to 2pm.
