THE BEAR ESSENTIALS
Week of May 4, 2026
Hello Bear Families,
Happy May! It truly is one of the most beautiful times in Michigan. The trees are full, flowers are blooming, and those lilacs are finally here. It brings a fresh energy to our school as we head into a very busy and exciting week ahead. We also want to take a moment to recognize that this week is Teacher Appreciation Week. We are incredibly grateful for our RHS staff and all that they do each day to support, inspire, and care for our students. Their dedication does not go unnoticed, and we appreciate them more than words can express.
On Monday, May 4, students will take the AP Microeconomics exam from 12:00 to 4:00 PM, and we will celebrate later that evening at the Superintendent’s Dinner at 6:30 PM at Crystal Gardens.
Tuesday, May 5, continues AP testing with the Government exam from 12:00 to 4:00 PM.
Wednesday, May 6, is a full day with the AP Literature exam from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Yearbooks will be distributed during all lunches in the café, and we will wrap up the day with the WAYC Spring Concert at 7:00 PM in the auditorium.
On Thursday, May 7, students will take the AP Statistics exam from 12:00 to 4:00 PM, followed by the RHS Mayfest Concert at 7:00 PM in the auditorium.
Friday, May 8, is packed with important events. Students will take the AP U.S. History exam from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and the AP Macroeconomics exam from 12:00 to 4:00 PM, and the fourth quarter progress reporting period will come to an end.
We are excited to celebrate our seniors at Prom that evening at the Roostertail beginning at 6:30 PM. This is a huge milestone for our senior class and one of the most memorable nights of their high school experience. We are looking forward to an exciting, fun, and unforgettable evening as they celebrate together. ✨
Go Bears!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month
In honor of mental health awareness in May, The Guidance Center is hosting a free event on May 12 for the community featuring a wonderful speaker from the MI Child Protection Registry. The presentation is geared towards parents on how to keep their children safe in today's internet/app-based world and how to have open conversations with youth about the topic.
