Message from the Head of School Message from the Head of School

This week, it has been lovely to welcome our Reception children to Hampton Infant School And Nursery . The team has worked exceptionally hard to ensure the classrooms are set up and ready for your children to start their school journey at HPP. We are so proud of how quickly everyone is settling in. I am delighted to say that our Nursery children are also settling very quickly into their routines. I have really enjoyed talking to them about their different paintings and what their favourite colours are!

Thank you to all parents who were able to attend the Year 1 and Year 2 parent welcome meetings this week. We hope you found them informative and helpful. For any parents who were unable to make it, all the slides will be emailed to you this week so you can refer to key dates and important notices at your convenience.

Our school principle this week has been ‘Partnership’. We have seen many wonderful examples of this in action in HISN, with collaboration between staff, parents, and pupils. Thank you for your continued support in working together so that the children can aim to 'be the best they can be'.

We hope you have a lovely weekend, and we’re looking forward to another exciting week ahead at HISN!

Nursery

What a wonderful first few days in Nursery we have had together! We have enjoyed meeting our new friends, learning names and having fun playing. It has been great to get outside and the climbing frame and sand trays have been a firm favourite.

We have enjoyed singing and learning some Makaton signs too. We have a 'hello' song and a 'goodbye' song we sing together and the adults in Nursery have been helping us to learn the words. We enjoyed a snack and some of us had milk too. Don't forget to sign up on the Cool Milk website if your child would like milk.

Inside the Nursery we have loved making collages, playing with the playdough and building the biggest train track ever!

From next week Nursery will be taking part in a weekly PE lesson. This will take place on a Wednesday. Your child can come in wearing their PE kit on this day.

Reception

It has been a fun few weeks settling into Reception. We have been very busy learning the routines of the day, getting to know the grown ups in Reception and making new friends.

We have been taking part in a phonics lesson and a maths lesson every day as well as exploring inside the classroom and in the garden too. We have been using the playground equipment and learning about how to keep safe at school by following the bee rules.

It has been exciting staying for lunch and we have enjoyed sitting in the hall with our friends. In the afternoon we get to enjoy a snack and a drink. Everyday we enjoy stories and we get to vote for our favourite one.

We are really looking forward to making lots of new friends and having fun everyday in Reception.
