Counselors' Corner
Dear Teachers,
We have so many things going on in the School Counseling Department. We have great and amazing interns that will be School Counselors next year and adding a lot of great information to our department. Stephanie Coombs will be with Angela and Madison is with Ruth! We are so lucky to have them collaborate with us this semester!
Next week is National School Counselor Week!!!
All week long we will have trivia questions about our program (the numbers that we have collected data from 2018-2019 school year) at the sign-in area. Make sure to take a guess at our questions and put them in the container to earn a PRIZE!!! Also, keeping your direct instruction in mind, we have activities that will happen for students at home, before school, and at lunch. One main event is to have students bring in towels or blankets, or spreads... To SPREAD kindness to Pets Inc. for their animals that need a little comfort. You can bring in some and put them in the front lobby too! This will be going on all week. We also want you to know how much we appreciate every single one of you!!! We would not be the counselors we are without your help and input!
THANK YOU!!!
Also, from our survey, we collected information that said that you would like more books and information for situations that are going on in your class! WE ARE HERE FOR YOU!!! We have great resources to address these concerns and are happy to loan out books for your class or come in for a read aloud. Let us know what your concerns are and what you need.
On another note, We wanted to continue to address needs in the classroom that may help with behavior. One resource to check out to make sure it fits your class is :
https://www.emotionalabcs.com/
It is free for educators and we will work on an iPad app to see if it may be downloaded for your iPads!
As always, please remember that even when it gets hectic we are here for you! Please let us know how we can help you and our kiddos!
Wishing you a Wonderful Week, Angela, Ruth, and Elizabeth
