Happy Friday, Chapelfield Families.
We had our first Learning Community today that is called Packs. Every teacher in the building has a small group of 11-13 students from kindergarten through fifth grade. This is one of the ways we are working to ensure students have a sense of belonging at Chapelfield. Our hope is that students feel connected to a new teacher and new friends. It also allows for our older students to have leadership opportunities to be a mentor to the younger grades. In addition, the learning community is one of our goals in our Equity and Access for All plan. Finally, it supports our PAWS program. Our theme this year is All are Welcome. This is a picture book by Alexandra Penfold and Suzanne Kaufmann. We will meet the last Friday of every month to develop strong relationships and talk about ways we can support one another in and out of the classroom.
This week we also worked hard to support GRIN with our food drive! This is Student Council's first school wide initiative. I am so proud of their leadership and dedication to making sure that we support the Gahanna community.
Lastly, we wanted to let you know that a westside community member puts on an event for free pictures with Santa at the gazebo across from family dollar near speedway. Myself and some other Chapelfield staff members will be there tomorrow, December 16th from 6:00-6:30 spreading some holiday cheer and singing holiday carols! If you have time, stop by! We would love to see you all.
