A Message from our Dean of Students, Mrs. Hyatt
With two snow days extending the long weekend, "friendship parties" were postponed until students returned to school this week. The delay only added to the excitement, making the celebrations even more special as they stretched over several days. It’s been wonderful to see the joy and energy throughout the building as students exchanged cards and treats with one another. This month’s character trait, kindness, aligns perfectly with the spirit of friendship and appreciation, providing a meaningful opportunity to emphasize and celebrate acts of kindness in our school community.
Menu Change for Friday 2/21
We have rescheduled our fun Valentine’s Day lunch menu for tomorrow, Friday the 21st. Students may choose between whole-grain rich, heart-shaped chicken nuggets or a Smucker’s strawberry peanut butter & jelly sandwich. Nutrition Services will also offer a "red-out" salad bar (including strawberries, apples, red peppers, etc.) and a chocolate chip cookie for dessert.
Free Dental Care for Children, Saturday 2/22
February is National Children's Dental Health Month,. According to the Oregon Smile Survey of 2017, released by the Oregon Department of Human Services, approximately 1 in 5 children had untreated dental decay. Pacific University is hosting a Give Kids a Smile event on Saturday February 22, 2025. The goal is to provide much needed preventive, palliative, and restorative dental care for children. See informational flyer here.
