Snap & Read
Tech Tip Tuesday (November 7, 2023)
Many of you know about Snap&Read's ability to translate text (in case you didn't, here's more on that).
However, how else can you use in the classroom?
For me, I use it quite often to simplify web pages to quicken up my reading, simplify text, and dictate while I type.
As a teacher, removing distracting features like ads and flashing features is great when using current events articles or when you want to narrow focus.
Here are some quick ways it can help you AND your students:
- Removes ads, clutter leaving just main text
- Provides clean, distraction-free formats with larger text
- 'Simplify' button strips complex pages to basic text/images
- Summarized versions give quick key facts
- Customizable text size, fonts, colors optimize readability
- Reading view tidies layout for focused reading
- Highlight or extract only important text portions
- Built-in dictionary defines difficult words quickly

Simplify Difficult Reading
Scale down text to make passages and vocabulary simpler to understand.
Translate
Set what language you'd like it to translate to using Options. From there, it will translate to your selected language.
Capture

Remove Distractions
Why do birds fly south in the fall?
Because it’s too far to walk.
