Fresh on the Shelves: Tech-Forward Tales! ๐โจ
The LRC just got a major upgrade! We are thrilled to announce that our collection is growing with even more interactive, immersive, and screen-free ways to fall in love with reading. Launching next week:
More VOX Books: These "books that talk" have been a hit! Weโve added new titles to our VOX collectionโperfect for early readers or anyone who loves a good read-along. With a built-in audio player right on the cover, you just push play and follow the story.
More IR Books: Ready to step inside the story? Our expanded IR Books collection uses VR technology to bring non-fiction to life. Use the companion app to watch 3D animals jump off the page or take a 360-degree tour of the solar system. These will now be available for 24 hour check-out for all students grades 2-5!
Yoto Mini Kits (NEW!): Meet the ultimate travel-friendly audio player! The Yoto Mini lets our students explore stories using physical cards. Itโs completely screen-free, making it the perfect companion for quiet time while following along with the book. We'll be introducing these next week and launching an interactive station for the rest of this school year. :)
Whether you're looking for a high-tech adventure or a cozy read-along,
the LRC has something for everyone!
๐ End-of-Year Library Updates
Can you believe we are already nearing the end of the school year? Itโs been a fantastic year of reading and exploring, but it is officially time to start getting our library ready for summer break!
Please keep these two important dates in mind and share them with your students:
Friday, May 8th: Last call for check-outs! This will be the final day for students to check out library books. We would absolutely love your help in reminding students to start bringing back their borrowed treasures after this date so we can get our shelves organized for next year.
Friday, May 22nd: The fun continues! Even though check-outs are pausing, regular library time, free books, and all our awesome activities will keep rolling right along as scheduled until May 22nd. Please note: After this date, the library will officially be closed for the remainder of the school year!
Thank you so much for being amazing partners in literacy this year. Let's make these last few weeks in the library an absolute blast for the kids!

YouTube Update
Elementary students cannot access YouTube as of June 2025. While this has its good points it may create a wrinkle in your teaching if you want students to utilize secondary video sources. If you have any questions or need support finding other options please reach out to Kristine. :)
Daily Sub Tech Capabilities
New this year, daily subs will use a chromebook issued from the LRC. These devices can connect to Vivi using classlink, however, daily subs do not have the ability to print.
They also do not have access to many Classlink and instructional apps. Please keep this in mind when you are planning an absence.
Below is a snapshot of what you're daily substitute will see in classlink.
