CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

  • Roofing installation has been completed and passed inspection

  • Electrical work inside the building is ongoing

  • DSA approval was received today to begin plastering of the outside of the building. It will probably start next week and will take 3-4 weeks to complete.

  • Plumbing test has been completed

MONTE VISTA'S TALENT SHOW

LA COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH ADVISORY

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) issued a health advisory on December 8, 2023, to notify clinicians and the public about an outbreak of Rocky Mountain spotted fever (RMSF) among people in the United States with recent travel to or residence in the city of Tecate, state of Baja California, Mexico.

Congratulations to the talented artists of this year's Reflections contest! RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS WEEK | JANUARY 16-19, 2024

Random Acts of Kindness week is happening this week! We've got some great activities planned to encourage students to think about how we can all work together to build a successful community with kindness at the forefront. The good work within each of us and through all of us, is always under construction and a work in progress. Please reference the RAK Flyer to see the daily activities.

PTA ASSOCIATION MEETING ENGAGEMENT & PARTICIPATION | WINNING CLASS

After 4 Association meetings this school year, we have accumulated the engagement and participation for all 4 meetings and the winner is… Susan Lee’s 6th grade class! Mrs. Lee’s class will get their choice of a class party! Please note, we will be continuing tracking participation at our remaining meetings (February - May) and the class with the greatest participation will also be eligible for a class party of choice!

PTA EXECUTIVE BOARD NOMINATIONS

Do you want to be a part of the PTA Executive Board or know of somebody who would be great? Now is the time to submit your name or the name of a fantastic volunteer. The positions available include:


President; Vice President of Programs; Vice President Head Room Rep; Vice President Ways & Means; Vice President Hospitality; Vice President Membership; Treasurer; Financial Secretary; Secretary; Financial Reviewer; Historian.


Please submit your Nomination Form by Friday, January 19, 2024. Have a question - please reach out to our Parliamentarian, Maristela Cho at starrymary@gmail.com. The PTA Nominating Committee will meet, draft a slate of officers for the 2024-2025 school year, and submit them to the PTA Association for a vote. PTA elections are held annually, with officers eligible to serve for two consecutive terms.

PTA Honorary Service Awards - We have amazing volunteers at Monte Vista! The Monte Vista PTA is looking to acknowledge individuals and organizations for outstanding community service to our school and to students in our community. The Honorary Service Award Committee encourages you to submit nominations. Please complete the Honorary Service Award Nomination Form by Friday, January 26, 2024.
