Nurse's Notes
❤️ A Little Reminder from the School Nurse: Flu Season Is Here!
As the weather gets cooler, flu season is right around us! We want all of our students and families to stay happy, healthy, and feeling their best. Here are a few simple ways we can work together to keep our school community healthy:
🍎 Wash those hands! Encourage your child to wash their hands often, especially before eating and after using the restroom.
🤧 Cover coughs and sneezes. Using a tissue or coughing into elbows helps keep germs from spreading.
💉 Consider a flu vaccine. The flu vaccine is a great way to help protect your child and your family during flu season.
🏡 Rest and recover at home. If your child is feeling sick, especially with a fever, vomiting, or diarrhea, please keep them home so they can rest and recover while helping protect their classmates and teachers.
💧 Drink plenty of fluids and get enough sleep. These little habits go a long way in keeping growing bodies healthy!
We know our families have busy schedules, and we truly appreciate your help in keeping our school a healthy place to learn and grow. If your child starts feeling unwell during the school day, they can always let their teacher know so we can check on them.
Thank you for being such an important part of our school family. Wishing everyone a healthy and happy flu season! ❤️
With care,
Your School Nurse
Highlights from Unified Arts
Ms. Halling's 'Art from the Heart'
News from our working Art studios here at Mountain Ridge Primary! We are enjoying the changing seasons, using texture plates and leaf stencils to explore the elements and principles of design. Our leaf compositions use line, shape and texture. These are some of the elements of design - the "what" of Art, to show contrast, emphasis and positive/negative space. These are some of the principles of design - the "how" of Art. In upcoming weeks, we will be painting!

PTO Connection
We hope you can join us for our Mountain Ridge Community Day on Oct. 24th!
We are holding a candy collection competition between all grade levels though October 23. Keep sending those bags of candy to prepare for our campus event! The grade level candy 'Monster' has started to 'eat' the bags in each hallway. The students are excited to see candy bags placed in their grade level monster and can't wait to hear how much their grade has collected so far.
Emergency Cards
All students need a completed online emergency card every year. Thanks to everyone who has already submitted one! We're still missing several. If you haven't filled one out for your child(ren), do it today!
Absences
If your child misses school, please send a note within 48 hours so it can be coded correctly!
