April 2025
A message from Ms. Gonzalez
I hope this message finds you well and enjoying the beautiful transition into spring! As we move into April, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for helping us improve student attendance. I'd also like to highlight the importance of your continued support. This is a critical time of year where consistent attendance plays a key role in maintaining momentum and helping our students meet their academic goals.
April kicks off STAAR season, giving our 3rd-5th grade students the chance to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they’ve gained throughout the year. These assessments provide valuable insights into student progress and help guide future learning. We encourage you to offer plenty of encouragement and reassurance at home to help your child feel confident and prepared. Our little Roadrunners will also have important assessments taking place in late April and early May, so let’s continue to support them as they work hard to complete this school year with success.
To stay informed about upcoming events, important dates, and school announcements, please be sure to check PeachJar flyers, ClassDojo, our school website, and follow us on social media (Facebook and X).
Thank you for trusting us with your child’s education. Let’s make April a month filled with growth, learning, and success!
Kindly,
Ms. González 💙💛

Book of the Month
Our School-wide Book of the Month is designed to foster a love of reading and create a shared experience across our entire school community. By focusing on one book each month, we can engage students in meaningful discussions, connect the themes to classroom learning, and promote literacy in a fun and unified way. This initiative also encourages families to participate, allowing you to support your child’s reading journey and be part of the excitement at Edgemere! Ask your child about Harlem Grown.

Modeling Safety and Respect for Our Students
As we strive to create a safe and respectful environment for our students, we kindly ask all parents to abide by all traffic laws, including refraining from texting and driving. Ensuring the safety of everyone during drop-off and pick-up times is a top priority. Additionally, we ask that all parents use appropriate behavior and language in and around the school, as we are all role models for our students. By demonstrating safe and respectful conduct, we can collectively foster a positive atmosphere that supports the well-being and development of our children. Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to setting a great example for our Roadrunners.
