A Message from Mrs. Spisich
It’s been a fun week around here! The building is full of excitement today as our third graders enjoy their pumpkin investigations, our fifth graders present their science projects to one another, and our grade level buddy partnerships connect. We’re also continuing to celebrate so many students reaching their goals with fitness testing!
Our focus this week was on being self directed, and our students have so much to be proud of. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and plenty of time to enjoy this beautiful fall weather!
Bulldogs Caught Being Positive
Throughout the day, our Bulldogs have opportunities to be Caught Being Positive by showing kindness, responsibility, and leadership throughout our school! Staff celebrate these moments with a Blue Slip, and each week, three students from each grade are randomly selected to be celebrated.
These are the everyday moments that bring our Portrait of a Graduate to life! I’ll share our students here each week so we can celebrate them together as a South Meadows community!
3rd Grade - Wyatt N, Raylynn F, Sadie C
4th Grade - Josiah L, Lilly M, Wyatt B
5th Grade - Kennedy T, Lauren P, Dean C

Updates and Information
Dismissal Plans
Please review your child’s dismissal plan before the school day begins. To help avoid last minute calls home and interruptions to families day, students will not be able to call home to make plans with friends or change their dismissal arrangements. If a change is needed, please notify both your child’s classroom teacher and our office staff. Thank you for your help in keeping dismissal safe and running smoothly!
Item Drop Off
If your child forgets an item at home, you can leave it on the designated table in the front vestibule along with a note for your student. Our office staff will make sure the item gets to your child as soon as they have a moment between helping others.
Halloween at South
We are excited for a fun day of costumes, friends, and building wide activities! Students will enjoy stations led by staff and community volunteers, along with an outdoor costume parade for families to enjoy as spectators.
Family Costume Parade: Families are invited to watch our outdoor parade beginning at 8:20 am Spectators may line the perimeter of the building, from the front bus doors to the playground in the back. The parade will travel around the building, excluding the sidewalk along the back lot.
We want this to be a fun and special day for all students! Please make sure costumes are school-appropriate. If you are unsure whether something may be too scary or not quite right for school, please choose another option.
Please leave the following at home:
Large inflatable costumes
Blood or gore
Weapons
Full-face masks
If a student brings one of these items, staff will ask them to place it in their locker for the day.
Thank you for helping us make Halloween fun, comfortable, and enjoyable for everyone!
