Overcoming the Odds! Congratulations to Justin Rios who was honored this week in a ceremony at Abigail Hirsch Tappan Hill Mansion for Overcoming the Odds, an annual award sponsored by Student Advocacy, Inc. One of six students in the county so recognized, Justin's journey has been unique, and is a testament to personal accountability, continuous growth and deep transformation. Now, on the verge of graduation, Justin lives independently and successfully balances school, athletics and two jobs! He plans on attending college and pursuing a career in business. Hats off to Justin! You make us all so very proud!!
Art in Nature! Mrs. Dallow and Mrs. Campana accompanied over 40 Art students to The Storm King Art Center, a 500 acre outdoor sculpture museum in Windsor, NY. Students began the day with a guided walking tour, learning about the works and artists, such as Louise Nevelson and Mark Di Suvero. The enormous sculptures ranged in size and style, some being interactive, allowing students to become part of the sculpture itself. Students were given additional time to walk the sculpture-filled grounds and visit the museum on Museum Hill. The day concluded with discussions and a picnic lunch! Thank you RNSF for generously funding this unique opportunity! More photos here!
