Message from Nicole Pease Principal Message from Nicole Pease Principal

Hello DCS Families, I hope you had a wonderful vacation! It was a welcome break after the busy week with NHDI. Gardening also started for the Kindergarten and First Graders which is a sure sign of spring! Vacation brings time to get outside and enjoy the weather before the black flies came out! Below is a picture of our Second Graders with the Elm City Rotary that donate a new pair of sneakers to all second grade students in Cheshire County! They also coordinate the DeMar Marathon including the Kids DeMar. You received a copy of the registration and we hope all of our families will register their student, even if you aren't available on the date. We would love to be the first school to have all students register!

This week brought Staff Appreciation Week and we have enjoyed chair massages, lovely sweets, flowers, and a luncheon together! Thank you to all that contributed. Wellness returned as the Special and today Susie Spikol came to talk about her new book. Students created magical creates and it has been so lovely to see their excitement and creativity about this topic. Enjoy this weekend and Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers in our lives, either in person or in memory, Nicole

Wellness Week with Kelly Parker Wellness Week with Kelly Parker

Students played a variety of 'minute to win it' games - both individual fitness challenges as well as team challenges. We focused on cooperation and teamwork. Some of the games included bucket head, cone flip, spinner winner, and mouse trap. We also got outside to learn and practice throwing a frisbee. Throwing cues -point, cross, step, flick. and catching (lobster claw or alligator). Students played a round of 'frisbee golf' - throwing to a hoop with cone inside trying to get a 'hole in one'. We revisited MyPlate and completed MyPlate fitness. We had a great week!
