Class President, Abby
Favorite class : Earth Science with Ms. Renee
Fun Fact: Aside from being a swimmer, I volunteer at a local zoo!
Future Career Goal: I want to work in Zookeeping, or Marketing/Event planning!
About me: I’ve been schooling with AZVA for 6 years, since 3rd grade! I feel staying in online school benefits me a lot, since it gives me time to work outside of class. It gives me time to read my bible study, see my friends, practice for my sport, volunteer, and even lead StuCo. I have 6 siblings, some of them might be in your/your younger siblings classes! I really love 80s music and rom-com novels. If you see me in class, say hi!
Some advice I want to give incoming AZVA Students (not just freshman) is; Look at the quiz before the lesson. This might sound weird, but you look at the questions and know exactly what to look for! Also, ask your teachers for study guides for test/AASA/ACT/ACT Aspire, it’ll help! And lastly; always participate in class and ask questions when needed.
Sambella, Treasurer
Favorite Class: Intro to Computer Science (Java) (also my most complex class TvT)
Fun Fact: I play violin and piano, and I can make a story from any prompt (fiction-wise)
Future Goal: I want to work in the computer science and STEM field.
About Me: I've been with AZVA since 8th grade. I was not too fond of it initially because I didn't get to spend time with my old friends. In the end, I like it now because there are many more opportunities than in brick-and-mortar schools. Now I have time to practice my instruments and do more work. I have three siblings, two of which love to come into my camera, so if you see them... might as well say hi.... I love reading and watching the movies of the books I read. I also love any music from the 2000s and higher. If you know me, your a lucky friend lol
Manna, Secretary
Favorite Class: My favorite class is Economics, I love the class engagements
Fun Fact: I have figure skated since I was 5 years old
Michelle Salman, Staff Advisor
Favorite Class: English, of course!
Fun Fact: I am a gardener, quilter, painter, and traveler…I will do pretty much anything that has to do with the creative arts and the outdoors brings me joy.
Future Goal: I am writing my memoir titled “Memoirs of a Chaotic Mind” about my journey through life with ADHD.
About Me: I have been an educator for over 20 years. After receiving my Master’s degree in English in 2001 with a focus on teaching English as a second language, I began my career teaching English to adult learners from various countries. I then switched to teaching college writing. In 2018, I decided to make a career change to teaching high school, and I have not looked back! My current stop is here, at AZVA teaching 12th grade English this year.
