Steele Weekly Update: Monday, November 17, 2025
A Note from Your Principal
Steele Nation!
Happy Monday Everyone!
Sorry we are a day late on the newsletter but we didn't forget. 😊 It's hard to believe that we are only four days away from our Thanksgiving break. A huge Thank You to everyone who came out for our Fall semester Blood Drive. It was a huge success! We are only a few members away from reaching our PTA membership goal for the year. If you have not joined our Steele PTA, I hope you will consider joining. We appreciate all your help and support! Click HERE to join the Steele PTA.
We have a lot of amazing teachers at Steele ECHS. I hope you will take a moment to nominate one of our teachers for Steele Exemplar Educator of the year. See below for more details and information. We have our delicious Thanksgiving dinner coming up this Friday. See below for more information about our Thanksgiving dinner.
Last Friday afternoon, we had a power outage in the area around Steele ECHS. I am so proud of our amazing Steele students and staff. They did a great job and everything on campus kept going as normal. We have the best students and staff in the whole universe!
Two reminders: 1) Don't forget about our Lost-n-Found table located in our Cafe. The table is starting to get full, remind your student to check the table to make sure they have not lost anything. 2) This Friday is the last day to take grades for the second progress report. Students need to make the most of this week and Power Hour tutorials. The second progress report will go out on Monday, December 1st. We are encouraging all students to take care of all grades before the Thanksgiving break. Lets make this a fantastic week.
We Are Steele!

Green Cord Program
Since April 2025, Steele Stallions have volunteered over 6,000 hours. Wow! That is amazing! We have around 160 students volunteering and making a positive difference in the community. Students can submit their volunteer hours in x2VOL.
We would love for all Steele students to be apart of our Green Cord program, so you can volunteer and give back to the community. All Steele students have an account in x2VOL and we would love for you to join our program of giving back. If you would like to know more about the Green Cord program or x2VOL, you can do two things, 1) check out the attachment below, and/or, 2) see Mrs. Allen in room 310-B.
The Power of Giving Back – Volunteering is a wonderful and rewarding experience that allows us to make a positive difference in the lives of others. Giving back to the community builds connection, strengthens character, and reminds us that we all have the power to create change. When we serve others, we grow together, making our community even stronger.
Juniors - Preparing for March SAT
Juniors – You are taking the School Day SAT at Steele ECHS on Wednesday, March 11th, 2026. Mark your calendar now. You need to use your October PSAT scores to help you prepare for your March SAT. Don’t wait, make a plan, work the plan, and start preparing now!
Juniors should use their PSAT scores to identify areas for improvement and then use those insights to create a targeted SAT study plan, focusing on specific knowledge and skills. They can also use online resources, like the official digital SAT prep on Khan Academy and full-length practice tests in the Bluebook app, to supplement their studies and prepare for the format of the SAT. And you can use Mastery Prep to prepare for your SAT.
What to do with your PSAT scores
- Analyze your score report: Dig into your score report to pinpoint specific areas of weakness. The College Board's score report can show you the number and types of questions you missed.
- Use the Skills Insight Tool: Plug your score information into the Skills Insight Tool on the College Board website to read more about the skills associated with your scores and understand your performance in different content domains.
How to use scores to prepare for the SAT
- Create a study plan: Use the information from your score report to build a study plan. Focus on the specific skills and knowledge areas where you need to improve.
- Use Official SAT Prep on Khan Academy: The College Board offers free, personalized prep on Khan Academy, linked directly to your PSAT scores.
- Take official practice tests: Use the Bluebook app to take full-length practice tests. Reviewing the results of these tests will help you understand what your practice scores mean and where you can still improve.
