Memorial Update

Good Morning Memorial Families,

I hope the long weekend was a good one! We have a busy couple of weeks with academics, evening events, and progress reports being sent home. This week our fourth grade chorus will be sharing their hard work two times; once for the students and staff at an in school concert on Wednesday afternoon, and then again on Wednesday night for their families. Great thanks to Dave Heath, our music teacher, for putting so much effort and creativity into the music selections and preparing our budding vocalists.

Next week we will hold our second annual Family Math Night. This year's theme is the Memorial Math Olympics. Students will collect Olympic rings as they choose rooms to participate in and can leave with their very own gold medal! I want to thank the six parents who are all bringing their math careers to life for our students on this night, showing students how math is used in the real world: Cayla McBee, Mark Grinberg, Chris and Shannon Kenwood, Danielle Futrell, and Melis Turgey. I am excited to see how you bring real world math to life for our students! Please see the flyer below and if possible, RSVP so that we can make sure that we have enough gold medals for all of our math olympians.

Progress Reporting Resources

Do you have a child who will be five years old before September 1st? If so, they are eligible to begin kindergarten. Please join Mrs. Bell and Ms Chuk at our annual kindergarten information night. There will be information on kindergarten registration, readiness, screening, and more. Join us on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 6:00pm in the Memorial cafeteria.

Join us Tuesday, February 3 at 6:00 PM on Zoom to learn about MURSD’s Spanish Immersion Program. Hear from teachers, administrators, and parents, see students in action, and learn what a typical Spanish Immersion kindergarten day looks like. Q&A included.
