PBIS Updates- Fun Friday (September 25th)

At Madison Middle School, We believe in celebrating students not only for academic achievement but also for the effort that they put into creating a safe, respectful, and responsible community. Our PBIS framework helps us to do this through our acknowledgement system. Our MadMoney tickets are a more frequent way to recognize this behavior but we also like to recognize sustained positive behavior over time as well.

Starting this Monday, we will share the criteria for qualifying for the first Fun Friday of the school year. Student behavior around being prepared for class and homework completion will be tracked from Tuesday, September 15th through Thursday, September 24th.

6th grade:

  • Any student that does not come prepared to class more than 2 times in any one class would not meet the requirements to qualify. Teacher tracked

  • Missing assignments (2 in any one class = disqualification) Teacher tracked

7th grade

  • Any student that does not come prepared to class more than 1 time in any one class would not meet the requirements to qualify. Teacher tracked

  • Missing assignments (2 in any one class = disqualification) Teacher tracked

8th grade

  • Any student that does not come prepared to class more than 1 time in any one class would not meet the requirements to qualify. Teacher tracked

  • Missing assignments (2 in any one class = disqualification) Teacher tracked

Students that Qualify will have the opportunity to choose between a number of activities hosted by staff for the last 80 minutes of the school day.

After School Activities

As a reminder, doors will open at 7:15am before school and students are expected to be out of the building by 2:50pm after school unless students are participating in athletics, clubs, or activities where they are supervised by an adult.

If your student is attending an athletic event, they are not permitted to be in the school after 2:50 and should ride the bus home and come back for the event.

Middle School CAP

Culture of Achievement Program (CAP) is an intervention to develop successful work habits and provide additional support for increased learning in academics. A student might enroll in the CAP program if he or she meets one or more of the following indicators:

☐ Missing several assignments

☐ Needing organizational assistance

☐ Needing more time to master complex concepts being taught

The program will be offered from 2:45 p.m. - 4:20 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
