2nd Grade Field Trip 2nd Grade Field Trip

On Wednesday, our second grade class went on their annual field trip to the Overland Trail Museum in Sterling. Students spent the morning learning about history and enjoyed interactive activities including panning for gold, an archeology dig and looking at old buildings. After the museum, students were treated to a pizza lunch and a few games of bowling!

On Wednesday, the Mighty Mentors and preschoolers put together mini front yards by planting grass, making a rock walkway, and began watering their lawns. They all can't wait to watch their yards become beautiful and green!

The 8th graders and preschoolers LOVED learning about planting flowers, grass, and gardens!

FBLA State Leadership Conference FBLA State Leadership Conference

This week our FBLA students and Mrs. Houston attended the State Leadership Conference at the Gaylord Hotel. They had an incredibly successful FBLA trip over the past few days! These students continue to amaze us with their professionalism and ability to compete at such a high level. FBLA doesn’t separate schools by classification, so our students were up against the best of the best—from 1A to 5A schools, charter schools, and specialized academies—and they held their own. There were over 4,000 students in attendance, and we are very proud of all of our attendees.

Please help us congratulate the following students on their outstanding achievements:

  • Kashlee Randel – 4th place, Introduction to Public Speaking

  • Carley Hase – 5th place, Future Business Leader

  • Anderson Filla – 6th place, Agribusiness

  • Josie Shook – 6th place, Introduction to Parliamentary Procedure

  • Taylor Benish, Addison Weis, & Brya Kusel – 10th place, Local Chapter Annual Business Report

  • Kashlee Randel, Molly O'Neil, & Mikenna Weers – Top 12, Community Service Project

  • Sierra Brown – Top 12, E-Portfolio

  • Brya Kusel – Peak Three Award

Building Trades Building Trades

Mr. Johnson's building trades class continues to impress with their skills. Recently the group has been working on a fence at the community garden on Adams, a kitchen remodel and building a greenhouse for a local family.

Last fall, the food service applied for an equipment grant through CDE to purchase a new food warmer/proofer. The new unit was delivered last week just in time for the kitchen staff to use it before the end of the year!
